Communicating its value.

UNM Law Library was founded in 1947 and is supported by the UNM Law School. This particular library is supported by UNM Law School. It falls in the category of a large special library. Its purpose is to accommodate law students , faculty ,Alumni , and members of the general public with material based on legal information.

The Law Library serves and supports the Law School in its mission of educating and training students to become excellent lawyers who will enrich the local community after graduation, and in focusing resources through education, research, and service on some of New Mexico’s most pressing legal needs.

Mission statement:

In its role as the only large academic law library in the State of New Mexico, in addition to providing library services and information resources to Law School faculty, staff, students, and alumni, the Law Library also strives to provide services and resources to other New Mexico legal practitioners;

UNM faculty and students; faculty and students from other educational educational institutions, including paralegal programs; libraries; and members of the general public government and court system employees.

In conclusion to summarize the value of this special library in minds eye is found, with in the contents of their mission statement and purpose for which this library was designed .

Imagine for a moment if there weren't a

place such as this magnitude of space for students at law with legal and research material to access , then question this :

What would become of our justice system if there was no access to free

legal material or information?

Would it increase or decrease the chances of hiring a good attorney especially one with knowledge of law and technicality’ s ?
