Ananalysisofhowthehumanresourcesfunctioncontributestoorganizationalperformance,andthemanagementofthosehumanresourcesincludingrecruitment,selection,compensation,traininganddevelopment,performance,appraisal,andunion/managementrelations.

1. Quizzes
TheQuizzeswillnotbecumulative.
Studentsarrivinglaterthan15minutesafterthestartofthequizwillnotbepermittedtotakethequizandwillreceiveagradeofzeroforthatquiz.
Quizzesturnedinwithoutanamewillbepenalized10points.
Make-upquizzeswillonlybegrantedincasesofmedicalemergenciesordeathsinthefamily.Documentationmustbeprovidedbeforethemake-upquizistaken.

2. Paper
Eachstudentwillpreparea2-4pagecomparisonoftwo(2)cloud-basedapplicationsbeingusedbyHRprofessionalsfortheadministrationofanHRfunction.Theinstructorwillprovidecombinationchoicesinclass.
PaperswillbesubmittedthroughCanvasandconsideredlateafter6:00p.m.onNovember15.Latepaperswillbesubjecttoaminimum10-pointdeductionand5additionalpointsforeachday.Nopaperswillbeacceptedafter6:00p.m.Nov22.3. Participationintheclass
Thiscourseispartofthestudent’straininginaprofessionalbusinessschool.Studentsareexpectedtoconductthemselvesasprofessionals.Professionalsarepreparedformeetings(class)andactivelyparticipateindiscussionsasappropriate.
iClicker2willbeusedineachclasstocapturestudent’slevelofpreparednessandattendance.ForeachgradediClickerquestioninclass,studentswillreceive1pointforansweringthequestionandanadditionalpointforansweringthequestioncorrectly.iClickerwillalsobeusedtopollstudentsonungradedquestionstosupplementclassdiscussions.
Attheendofthesemester,studentswiththetop30%ofiClickerpointswillreceiveaparticipationscoreinthe90s.Themiddle50%ofiClickerpointswillearnascoreinthe80sandthebottom30%willreceivescoresbelow80.
4. FinalExam
TheFinalExamwillbecumulative,coveringmaterialfromtheentiresemester.
