Before I brought her here I took her to the doctor and he treated her about a month, but finally said I would have to take her to the hospital where perhaps an opera- tion would be necessary. Bring also well filled baskets, and be prepared to spend a pleasant afternoon and evening on the velvety green grass under the beautiful trees at Budd Park. The following list is a suggestion of the many things that will make a good filling for the baskets: peanut sand- wiches, mayonnaise sandwiches, lettuce sandwiches, plain bread and butter, hard boiled eggs, salads, pickles, olives, all kinds of fruits, cakes, jelly, etc. A big table will be spread upon the grass about 6 o’clock. There will be games for great and small and plenty of lemonade for all. More about it next week. Cured By A Mistake N ew York , June 7,—At a recent meeting of the County Medico Society in Philadelphia, says the Medical Times in its publication today, Doctor De Sajous related hpw a man brought his daugh- ter to him for treatment. She had lost her voice. " I tried the battery on her,” said the physi- cian, “ and her voice returned perfectly in a short time. The father was in such glee that he hugged me. When they had gone I happened to look at the battery and observed that the current had not been turned on.” Mrs. Jennie H. Croft will address the Sunday evening service on July 4th.

■ ■ ■- • --------------------

Every day at noon the Unity workers assemble in the auditorium with visitors and friends to enjoy the “ noon silence.” The exercises begin with, a song, after which the Prosperity Thought is repeated audibly several times in concert. The remainder of the time is devoted to restful, quiet meditation upon the thought.

Occasionally those present give forth the helpful thoughts that come to them in the silence. All agree that the little silent meeting smooths out the troubles of the morning and leaves the participants in a refreshed state of mind, ready for the afternoon’s labors. All are invited to drop in from 12 to 12:15, every day but Sunday.

Kept Young By Playing YoungN ew Yo r k , M ay 21.—T hat aged persons could

prolong their lives if they associated constantly with young folks was the firm belief of Mrs. Yetta Schulm an, who died in this city yesterday, 105 years old. She is survived by th irteen children and twenty-five grandchild ren , and it was her habit to spend the g reater p a rt of the time playing out of doors with the little ones, when the w eather perm itted. Mrs. Schulm an's death was due to na tura l causes, and despite he r great age, she never w ore glasses.
