Unisel- City Labs Apprenticeship Programme-Training and Job Placement Implementation Plan
Introduction to the UCLAP
The Unisel- City Labs Apprenticeship Programme Implementation Plan outlines the details to the
educational intervention outlined in the real world Job requirements and Professional Certification
requirements.
UCLAP Programme is an evolution of CLAP Programme which was an outcome of Government
sponsored Programmes namely GEP-Graduate Employability Programme and ASET-Accelerated
Skills Enhancement Training Programme. City Labs was not only the consultant, in the creation of
these programmes but also implementer in year 2011 to 2012.
UCLAP programme was spearheaded with an Idea of 100% Guaranteed Placement of Trainees in
Jan 2014 with 22 participants.
Participants were taught SQL Server for Database Management, C# for concreting Programming
skills and ASP.Net for developing dynamic websites.
It took 4 weeks to complete the entire syllabus and then it took 2-3 weeks to roll out participants to
Potential Companies for an interview. Many companies were invited t City Labs for interviewing
candidates and many companies invited UCLAP trainees to their premises for the same.
Trainees were from different backgrounds such as Knowledge management, supply chain
management, software engineering and etc.
Participants were loaded with Projects on their Laptops to show to the Companies about their
capabilities of handling IT Developments in the latest trends.
There were trainees’ who were grabbed immediately by companies and there were participants
who had to go to more than 5 companies before they succeeded.
But the goal of this educational program was met and that participants not only entered the JOB
World with Good Salaries but joined to their duties with enhanced knowledge, skills, and/or
abilities as necessary. The real success story of 70 graduates from UCLAP 2014 can be viewed at
