SPOOLBASE

There are many components to any spoolbase operation—CRC-Evans Offshore provides the facility, manpower, and technology to manage them all. Our expertise covers every aspect of welding, inspection, field joint coating, and storage of pipe stalks for high-volume operations.

In addition to the industry’s most advanced welding technology, CRC-Evans Offshore offers storage racks, roller systems, and other pipe handling equipment needed for the fabrication, spooling, and loading of rigid pipeline before installation. Our management services help streamline efficiency and reduce transit time on sub-sea pipeline projects.

S-LAY

From automatic welding machines to pipe facing equipment, from copper backup clamps to purge clamps and support equipment, CRC-Evans Offshore delivers start-to-finish S-Lay solutions ideal for shallow and intermediate waters. Deeper-water S-Lay construction firing line crew can also be implemented.

J-LAY

CRC-Evans Offshore delivers turnkey deep-water J-Lay pipeline construction welding solutions, from J-Lay clamps and pipe facing machines to various external automatic welding systems. These external welding systems are capable of welding materials like API 5L X70 or corrosion-resistant alloys (CRA), 13% chrome, stainless steel, or clad pipe.

OFFSHORE WELDING SYSTEMS

No matter what your project scope, CRC-Evans Offshore has a welding system that will ensure its success. CRC-Evans Offshore welding systems are as lightweight as they are rugged, built to deliver easy handling in constrained laybarge spaces and high reliability on the open seas.

Automatic Welding System

Cutting-edge technology meets productivity-boosting equipment. Increase weld quality and maximize productivity from a limited number of welding stations.

n Vision System laser technology enables thru-the-arc tracking

n Inline inspection allows corrections to be made in the critical path

n Includes welding machines, line-up clamps, pipe facing machines, and independent power supplies

Includes V-Bevel, V-Weld, V-Root, V-Purge, and V-Cap.

High-Productivity Welding System

State-of-the-art welding equipment and fully digital control components. Move your project forward at high speeds while maintaining superior quality.

n Dual-torch automatic external welder maximizes speed while producing consistent high-quality welds

n Thru-the-arc tracking, onboard data collection, and touchscreen control

n Combines line-up mechanisms that clamp pipe ends into alignment with an internal pipe welder

Includes CMT Welding System, P-600 External Welding Machine, P-625 External Welding Machine, Internal Welding Machine, Pipe Facing Machine, and Copper Backup Clamp.

V-Purge: Fully automated pressure-based purge control system with laser vision. The first purge control system of its kind, V-Purge controls and monitors purge chamber parameters and accompanying inline inspection.

V-Root: Internal inspection system with vision laser sensor and charge-coupled device (CCD) color camera. Allows root inspection directly after root and hot pass welding; minimizes the downtime associated with a third-party tool.

FIELD JOINT COATING

Automated offshore and spoolbase field joint coating equipment allows highly repeatable installation processes, ensuring high coating production rates, faster commissioning, and increased operational efficiency. CRC-Evans Pipeline Induction Heat (PIH) offers a full range of anti-corrosion, insulation, and profile infill solutions for pipeline field joints, protecting pipelines from corrosion, insulation loss, and mechanical damage at the field joint.

Injection Molded Polypropylene (IMPP) System

Designed to deliver exceptional thermal insulation, CRC-Evans PIH’s Injection Molded Polypropylene (IMPP) System is fully compatible with line pipe coating and injection molding and can be used in offshore and spoolbase environments and in both S-Lay and J-Lay configurations.

INSPECTIONSTANlEy Inspection utilizes today’s most advanced nondestructive inspection and testing technologies to provide Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) for offshore pipeline projects. By combining Phased Array (PA) technology with Time of Flight Diffraction (ToFD), outstanding software, and highly skilled personnel, Stanley Inspection delivers comprehensive weld evaluation while meeting the high production rates demanded by offshore construction.

Providing both welding and inspection services speeds up procedure development during qualification and enables improved process control during production. Additional inspection services include Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Manual Ultrasonic Testing (MUT), Penetrant Testing (PT), digital radiography, film radiography, and film digitization.

SPOOLBASE FABRICATIONWhether it’s jumper and spool piece, multi-jointing, or bundle fabrications, the unique challenges of spoolbase fabrication

require a specialized approach to every aspect of production.

Comprehensive Fabrication Welding

In some instances, fabrication welding experts may determine that manual welding is your best option. Other applications may call for semi-automatic or automatic welding. In every case, CRC-Evans Offshore will develop and implement the spoolbase fabrication strategy that best meets your needs.

LAYBARGE EQUIPMENTCRC-Evans Offshore laybarge technology includes pipe handling and joint coating equipment systems designed for reliable performance in both deep and shallow waters. CRC-Evans Offshore moves pipe joints of all sizes from storage, through the production line, and into the sea.

MANAGED OFFSHORE SERVICESCRC-Evans Offshore understands the challenges of the offshore firing line—the tight deck space, the limited welding stations, tight time constraints, and the very high cost of downtime. Our managed services will help you succeed in even the most trying environments, configuring the manpower and technology that will optimize

your operation, both logistically and financially.

INTEGRATED PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Once the scope of your project is established, CRC-Evans Offshore will assemble an experienced Project Management Team—experts in welding, engineering, production, and NDE. Led by a Project Manager, this team will work cohesively to address any and all production issues and ensure that all project goals are met as promised. CRC-Evans Offshore will also help manage all required project documentation.

A SAFE, QUALITY-DRIVEN WORK ENVIRONMENT

At CRC-Evans Offshore, we place high value on the health and safety of all project personnel and work hard to create a safe, quality-driven work environment. This also means the establishment of goodwill throughout all phases of production—by respecting diversity of background, custom, and thought, CRC-Evans Offshore can successfully generate an open, inclusive work environment and greatly reduce incident risk. Through safe working practices, clear communication, and personal accountability at all levels, CRC-Evans Offshore works to ensure the highest levels of quality and safety.
