Useful information about Poland

Passports: Travellers entering Poland with a Canadian or United States passport no longer require a visa for stays of up to 90 days. Passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your stay in Poland. For further information please contact the Polish Consulate or Embassy in your country.

Currency: The official Polish currency is the zloty (PLN) which is divided into 100 groszy. The bank notes: 200, 100, 50, 20 and 10 zlotys. The coins: 5, 2, 1 zloty and 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 grosz. Major foreign currencies can be exchanged at banks or exchange counters “Kantor” located in tourist areas.

Electricity: 220 Volts / 50 Hertz, round European type 2-pin plugs. Electrical equipment of 110 Volts / 60 Hertz requires the use of an adapter or a voltage converter.

Driving: Canadian and U.S. driver’s licenses will be honoured only in conjunction with an International Driver’s License which can be purchased at your local CAA or AAA office.

Credit / Debit cards: American Express, MasterCard, Visa, & Diner’s Club are widely accepted. There is also an extensive network Automated Teller Machines ( ATM ) throughout the country.

Tipping: The customary tip in restaurants, cafes & taxis is 10 -15 %. Tips for porter’s in hotels & other services are at travelers discretion.

Time: Poland is in the Central European Time Zone: GMT +1. Summertime is applicable from the last Sunday in March until the last Sunday in October when they set the clock back one hour.

Telephone: Major cities and towns in Poland can be reached directly from the United States and Canada by dialing 0-11-48 followed by the city code and the telephone number. To connect directly from Poland with most European countries, USA or Canada, one has to dial “0”, listen for a steady tone, then dial “0” again, followed by the country code, area code and the number.

The Magic of Poland 7 Days / 6 Nights Coach Tour

DAY 1, WARSAW (Welcome dinner)Arrival in Warsaw and transfer to your hotel in the heart of the city. The afternoon is free. At 6:00PM, meet your guide and the rest of the group in the hotel lobby. Drive along the beautifully renovated Royal Route with its historical monuments and residences. Stop at Castle Square for a short walk through Old Town, and then join us for welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Your meal will include typical Polish dishes and famous Polish vodka, “Zubrowka”.

DAY 2, WARSAW (B, L)Morning a half-day sightseeing tour includes Old Town with the impressive Royal Castle. Here the Constitution of May 3rd was proclaimed in 1791, the second oldest constitution, after the US Constitution, in the world. You will admire some of its 300 rooms and the largest and most impressive of all the castle’s chambers, the Ballroom. After lunch at a restaurant in Old Town, we continue our tour with a drive to the area of the former Warsaw Ghetto. During your tour of Warsaw we invite you to the famous Warsaw chocolate factory “Wedel” to taste the delicious hot chocolate. This evening you will take an unforgettable musical journey through the world famous compositions of our greatest composer, Frederic Chopin, at a piano recital. A glass of sparkling wine will be served during intermission.

DAY 3, WARSAW – CZESTOCHOWA – ZAKOPANE (B, L)After breakfast, we depart for Zakopane – one of the most popular resorts in the Tatra Mountains. En route, we stop in Czestochowa to visit the Jasna Gora Monastery and the Black Madonna Shrine with its miraculous icon. Evening arrival in Zakopane beautifully situated at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. It is the most popular resort in Poland and one of the most beautiful places in all of Poland, owing to its picturesque location. Once, a small mountain

village, Zakopane became a fashionable artist’s retreat at the beginning of the 20th century.

DAY 4, ZAKOPANE – KRAKOW (B, D)Morning sightseeing of Zakopane, whose wooden architecture blends with the natural landscapes. Admire the breathtaking views of the Tatras from the top of Gubalowka Mountain and shop for souvenirs of arts and crafts of the Highlanders (Gorale) in the local shops. This afternoon we leave Zakopane and take a spectacular rafting trip on the Dunajec River in Pieniny National Park (weather permitting) and later continue to Krakow. Dinner at a local restaurant in Krakow’s Old Town Market Square.

DAY 5, KRAKOW – AUSCHWITZ – KRAKOW (B, L)Morning sightseeing tour will feature Wawel Hill with the Royal Castle, home to three dynasties of Poland’s monarchs and the Wawel Cathedral. Its 18 chapels are true architectural masterpieces and the giant bell, Zygmunt from 1520 ranks with the world’s largest. Drive to Old Town with its restored Main Square of magnificent houses and palaces. There visit St. Mary’s Basilica to see the magnificent wooden altar by Wit Stwosz. In the middle of the square is Cloth Hall built before 1349, with many shopping stalls inside. After lunch drive to Auschwitz-Birkenau to visit the Martyrdom Museum of the former Nazi concentration camp. Return to Krakow for overnight.

DAY 6, KRAKOW – WIELICZKA – KRAKOW (B, D)Morning at leisure. Afternoon coffee and cake at the famous Krakow café and then we drive to the Wieliczka Salt Mine to see extraordinary underground chambers, grottoes, and chapels carved from salt. Dinner with a folkloric show will be served at a local restaurant in Wieliczka, before we drive back to Krakow.

DAY 7, KRAKOW (B)After breakfast, transfer to the airport. End of tour.

You will be invited for a home-hosted lunch by a local family, whose charming cottage is located at the foot of the former Lowicz Castle. You will be welcomed in a typical Polish way, with bread & salt. We continue to Torun, where the balance of the day is at leisure.

DAY 8, TORUN – GDANSK (B, L)In the morning, we see the highlights of Torun. It is the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus and considered one of the most magnificent historic cities of Poland. Its Old Town has been included in UNESCO’s list for its impressive 13th century Town Hall and historic streets preserving Torun’s past glory. A visit to the Copernicus Museum is included. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we drive to Gdansk. Upon arrival, a stroll in the Old Town.

DAY 9, GDANSK – MALBORK – GDANSK (B, L)Today, we tour Gdansk in-depth. Highlights include: the Upland Gate - a fragment of the city’s former fortifications and one of its main gates, the Prison Tower and the Torture House - relics of the 15th century Gothic defense walls, the Golden Gate, Long Market - a magnificent street, with grand mansions decorated with late Renaissance and Baroque facades, the Main Town and the Artus Court - a building used for Hanseatic League meetings, St. Mary’s Basilica and finally Mariacka Street, with its gabled terraced houses and elegant boutiques. We continue to Malbork for lunch and tour of the Teutonic Knights Castle which is the largest brick building in Europe. After return to Gdansk the balance of the day is free to shop for Baltic arts and crafts such as unique amber jewelry and trinkets or to relax.

DAY 10, GDANSK – GDYNIA – SOPOT – OLIWA – WARSAW(B, L, D)After breakfast we drive to Gdynia, youngest of the tri-city complex, which also includes Sopot the famous and fashionable seaside resort. Here you will see the oldest and longest wooden pier in Europe. We will also visit Oliwa Cathedral famous for one-of-a-kind pipe organ, to enjoy a concert. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we drive to Warsaw. Farewell dinner and overnight in Warsaw.

DAY 8, KRAKOW – WIELICZKA – LOWICZ – WARSAW (B, D)This morning we drive to Wieliczka to see the underground world of the oldest salt mine in Europe and on the UNESCO List since 1978. Admire the salt chambers, monuments all carved in salt by many generation of Polish miners. After lunch on your own, we depart for Warsaw. On the way, we will stop in Lowicz, a typical Mazovian town famous for folk art, especially colorful costumes and beautiful paper cut-outs. DAY 4, KRAKOW (B, D)Morning sightseeing features Wawel Hill, the Royal Castle and the Cathedral where Polish kings were crowned and buried. A short break for coffee and cake at the famous Krakow café and then we visit the Old Town with its renewed Main Square. There, you stop at St. Mary’s Basilica to see the magnificent wooden

altar by Wit Stwosz. In the middle of the square is Cloth Hall built in XIV century, with many shopping stalls inside. The afternoon is at leisure. Dinner at a local restaurant in Old Town.

DAY 5, KRAKOW – WIELICZKA – ZAKOPANE (B, L)After breakfast, we drive to Zakopane, a resort beautifully situated at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, a great area for walking and hiking and shopping for local folk art. On the way, we stop at the Wieliczka Salt Mine for a tour of its chapels, grottoes, lakes and magnificent cathedral, all carved from rock salt. After lunch at a local restaurant in Wieliczka, we drive to Zakopane for overnight stay.

DAY 6, ZAKOPANE (B, D)In the morning, you will have a sightseeing tour of Zakopane, whose wooden architecture blends with the natural landscapes. You will visit the Jaszczurowka Chapel and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima at Krzeptowki. A cable car ride to the top of Gubalowka hill offers a breathtaking view. Free time to shop for arts and crafts of the Highlanders (Gorale) in the local shops. Specialties to look for here include: woollen sweaters, sheepskin jackets, wooden crafts, as well as the local cheese. Dinner tonight at a typical Highlanders’ Inn with a folkloric show.

DAY 7, ZAKOPANE – WADOWICE – WROCLAW (B, L)Today we depart for western Poland and the historic city of Wroclaw. Known as “Venice of the North”, it is one of the oldest cities in Poland, capital of Lower Silesia, with a beautiful location along the Odra River. En route, we stop in Wadowice, the birthplace of John Paul II. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will see the house where He was born and grew up. In the Basilica of Wadowice you can still see the special plaque that commemorates the place where future Pope John Paul II, was baptized. Lunch at a local restaurant and then we continue to Wroclaw - The Cultural Capital of Europe 2016.

DAY 8, WROCLAW – RYDZYNA (B, D)After breakfast, we visit Panorama Raclawicka - a single painting arranged along the interior walls of a rotunda as one unbroken circle. The picture represents the battle of Raclawice, fought in 1794 between the Polish insurrectionist army led by Tadeusz Kosciuszko, and Russian troops. From here, we drive to Rydzyna and stay overnight in the local Castle and enjoy dinner in the castle’s restaurant.

DAY 9, RYDZYNA – POZNAN – TORUN (B, L)Today, we leave for Torun with a brief stop for sightseeing tour in the historic city of Poznan. The first settlement here can be traced back to the early 9th century. The first ruler of Poland, Mieszko I founded his church right here. After lunch at a local restaurant, we continue to Torun.

DAY 10, TORUN – GDANSK (B, L)In the morning, a tour of Torun, the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus and one of the most magnificent historic cities of Poland. Its Old Town has been included in the UNESCO’s list. Lunch at a local restaurant in Torun. Afternoon, drive to Gdansk where we will get acquainted with the city on a brief walk through its Old Town.

DAY 11, GDANSK – GDYNIA – SOPOT (B, L)Today, we tour Gdansk in depth. Highlights include the Upland Gate - a fragment of the city’s former fortifications and one of its main gates, the Prison Tower and the Torture House - relics of the 15th century Gothic defense walls, Long Market - a magnificent street, with grand mansions. Next, we come upon the Main Town and the Artus Court, St. Mary’s Basilica and finally Mariacka Street. From here we drive to Gdynia, youngest of the tri-city complex, which also includes Sopot. We visit Oliwa Cathedral famous for its one-of-a-kind pipe organ, to enjoy a concert. After lunch at a local restaurant, we continue our drive to Sopot, the famous and fashionable seaside resort where you can see the oldest and longest wooden pier in Europe. Return to Gdansk and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

DAY 12, GDANSK – MALBORK – OLSZTYN (B, L, D)After breakfast, we leave Gdansk. Our first stop is at the Teutonic Knights Castle in Malbork, the largest brick building in Europe. Lunch at a local restaurant and then we continue to Olsztyn, a town located in a region of lakes and forests. In the evening, take part in an open-air picnic with folkloric entertainment in Gietrzwlad.

DAY 13, OLSZTYN – OLSZTYNEK – LOWICZ – WARSAW(B, D)After breakfast we visit the Ethnographic Park in Olsztynek, one of the oldest open-air museums in Europe. In the afternoon, as we continue our drive to Warsaw, we will stop in Lowicz, a typical Mazovian town famous for folk art. You will be invited for a home-hosted dinner by a local family, whose charming cottage is located at the foot of the former Lowicz Castle. After dinner, we continue to Warsaw for overnight.

DAY 2, SEP 24, GDANSK (B, D)Our walking tour of Gdansk will start at the Golden Gate which opens onto Long Market with its grand mansions decorated with late Renaissance and Baroque facades where the richest burghers of Gdansk once lived, the Artus Court - a building used for Hanseatic League meetings renowned as the most beautiful court among all of Europe’s Hanseatic cities, St. Mary’s Basilica, and Mariacka Street, with its gabled terraced houses and elegant boutiques. We will visit an Amber shop where you will learn a bit about the production and characteristics of this “baltic gold”.Tonight we dine at the famous “Pod Lososiem” Restaurant which is housed in a building that originally opened in 1598 as a distillery. You will have the opportunity to try the original Goldwasser that was produced here.

DAY 3, SEP 25, GDANSK - SOPOT - MALBORK - TORUN (B, D)Today we start with a ferry ride (weather permitting) to historic Westerplatte where the German invasion of Poland on September 1st, 1939 officially marked the beginning of World War II. On our way to Westerplatte we pass the Gdansk shipyard famous for Lech Walesa and the Solidarity movement. From Westerplatte we board our coach and continue to Sopot, a fashionable seaside resort. Here you can still see the oldest and longest wooden pier in Europe. Continue to Malbork Castle, built in 1406 by the Teutonic Knights a German Roman Catholic religious order of crusaders, Malbork is the largest castle in the world by surface area as well as the largest brick building in Europe. Enjoy a delicious dinner, at the castle’s Gothic Restaurant, prepared by Chef Bogdan Galazka, a graduate of the Kurt Scheller Cooking Academy as well as the Culinary Academy of New York. Continue to Torun for overnight.

DAY 4, SEP 26, TORUN - WARSAW (B, D)Morning walking tour of Torun, the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus and long famous as a center of gingerbread making since Medieval times. One one of the most magnificent historic cities of Poland, its Old Town has been included on the UNESCO list for its impressive 13th century Town Hall, superb churches and streets that recall Toruń’s past glory. Our tour includes a visit to the Gingerbread Museum where we will be taught to bake our own gingerbread from hand-carved wooden molds. We end our visit of Torun with free time for lunch and shopping before our drive to Warsaw. This evening enjoy a recital of Chopin music and then dinner at a local restaurant serving traditional food from eastern Poland.

DAY 5, SEP 27, WARSAW (B, L)Sightseeing of Warsaw including: Royal Route, Lazienki Park, Chopin monument, the Ghetto Memorial, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Castle Square, St. Johns Church, the Barbakan, and the Old Town Square. We end the tour with lunch and then the rest of the day is free to explore on your own.

DAY 6, SEP 28, WARSAW - LUBLIN (B, D)Drive southeast to Lublin. Meet our local guide for a walking tour. Our hotel is in the very heart of the town so it is a short stroll to the pedestrian area in the Old Town where you will see the Rynek (Market Square), Trinity Cathedral, the Krakow Gate and then on to the Castle. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Lublin.

DAY 7, SEP 29, LUBLIN - LANCUT - RZESZOW (B, D)Today we leave Lublin and drive towards Rzeszow. Enroute we will visit be Łańcut Castle which is the most famous aristocratic residence in Poland with its impressive architecture, magnificent interiors, rich art collections and famous Coach Museum. After our visit we continue to Rzeszow. We will have a short walking tour of Rzeszow’s Old Town followed by dinner at the Old Rzeszow Brewery.

DAY 8, SEP 30, RZESZOW - SANOK - KROSNO - RZESZOW (B, L)Driving south we make a short stop in Blizne to visit the Wooden church here ( a UNESCO site ). We then continue to Sanok to visit Poland’s largest open air Museum. There are about 100 traditional buildings here providing insight into the cultural heritage and mix of the ethnic groups which inhabited this Polish-Ukrainian borderland. A lunch of local specialties will be prepared and waiting for us after our visit of the park. On our way back to Rzeszow we will stop for a tour of the Krosno City of Glass Heritage Centre, there will be some free time to shop as well. Return to Rzeszow and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

DAY 9, OCT 1, RZESZOW - ZAKOPANE (B, L, D)After breakfast we leave Rzeszow and drive southwest towards Zakopane. Enroute we will stop to visit the Lorek Family near the village of Szczyrzyca, where we will sample their artisan meats, cheeses and cider. Continue to Zakopane where we will arrive in the late afternoon. Free time until dinner to explore Zakopane or enjoy the facilities at the hotel. Dinner at our hotel tonight.

DAY 10, OCT 2, ZAKOPANE (B, D)Today we will discover the charming resort town of Zakopane. Our morning sightseeing will include a cable-car (funicular) ride to top of Gubalowka Mountain for a panoramic view of the surrounding area. After the tour you have free time to enjoy the highlander hospitality and to wander the market place where you can find local specialties such as artistic leather works wood carvings, and local cheeses. Dinner tonight will be at a local highlander Inn.

DAY 11, OCT 3, ZAKOPANE - WIELICZKA - DWOR SIERAKOW - KRAKOW (B, L & Vodka Tasting)We leave Zakopane today and drive north to Wieliczka to visit this amazing UNESCO Heritage Site. This salt mine has been operating since the 13th century. The underground is an unforgettable attraction and Poland’s most visited attraction with underground chambers, grottoes, and chapels all carved from salt. After our tour we will drive to the Manor House in Sierakow for lunch and vodka-tasting. Arrive Krakow in the late afternoon. Evening at your leisure.

DAY 12, OCT 4, KRAKOW (B, Farewell Dinner)Walking tour of Krakow including the Royal Wawel Hill, the Old Town with the Cloth Hall, the Barbican, St. Mary’s Church with the 15th century Witt Stwosz Altar inside, and Florianska Gate. Day 4, KRAKOW - AUSCHWITZ - WIELICZKA - KRAKOW (B)A full day private tour with your personal, English speaking driver who will take care of all the arrangements. In the morning explore Auschwitz which has unfortunately become a grim symbol of our civilization. Our tour will include the Holocaust Museum in Auschwitz I, as well as the less frequently visited Auschwitz II - Birkenau, the extermination camp itself. After visiting Auschwitz, you will travel to the Wieliczka Salt Mines, a fascinating monument of engineering which dates back to the 13th century. Day 5, EXCURSION TO ZAKOPANE OR CZESTOCHOWA (B)Decide how you would like to spend this day. You can choose between one of two equally interesting, but different complimentary tour options. Both are private, so you’ll travel with in comfort by car with a professional and personal English -speaking driver/guide: 1st Option: ZAKOPANE: the main Polish mountain resort at the foot of the majestic Tatra mountain range (over 2,000 metres above sea level). A car tour around Zakopane, admiring the exquisite and very characteristic local wooden architecture and making a funicular railway trip up to one of the most beautiful places in the Tatras: Mt. Gubalówka, facing the astonishing beauty of Zakopane. During the day, you will also have enough time to walk down Krupówki Street for souvenir-hunting.

HIGHLIGHTS OF CENTRAL EUROPE 11 Days / 10 Nights Coach Tour

DAY 2, AUG 23, KRAKOW (B, L)After breakfast we tour the medieval town of Krakow on foot. Our tour will take us to the Barbican, St. Florian’s Gate, Royal Wawel Hill with the Royal Cathedral, and finally to the Old Town Market Square with the Cloth Hall, and St. Mary’s Church. We will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant near the old town square and then you are on your own for the rest of the day to enjoy Krakow at your own pace. Overnight in Krakow.Optional excursion to Wieliczka Salt Mine: can be arranged this afternoon for those interested. Cost will be approximately $ 50 US per person. Wieliczka is an amazing UNESCO Heritage Site. This salt mine has been operating since the 13th century and is Poland’s most visited attraction with underground chambers, grottoes, and chapels all carved from salt.

DAY 3, AUG 24, KRAKOW – ZAKOPANE (B, D)After breakfast we leave Krakow and travel south towards Zakopane. In the early afternoon we arrive at the picturesque resort town of Zakopane, nestled at the base of the Tatra mountains. Here you can still see the Polish highlander culture in the day to day life as the villagers often pass by in traditional dress. There is a very unique atmosphere here making Zakopane a memorable stop for all those who visit. After checking in to the Aries hotel which is steps away from the main pedestrian street “Krupowki” we will take a walk to see some of the interesting sites such as the Old Cemetery in Zakopane with its unique monuments and then if it is a clear day we can take a ride by cable car (funicular) to the top of Mt. Gubalowka where you have a great view of the Tatra mountains. Back at the bottom of the mountain is a market full of shops selling local specialties such as wood carvings, sheepskins & local cheese. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.Dinner at the hotel tonight. Overnight in Zakopane.

DAY 4, AUG 25, ZAKOPANE (B, D)After breakfast we are off to enjoy a ride through the Dunajec River Gorge on wooden rafts (subject to weather conditions). After our scenic ride we return to Zakopane to relax or explore on your own. Dinner tonight will be at a local inn with folklore. Overnight in Zakopane.

DAY 5, AUG 26, ZAKOPANE – BUDAPEST (B, Dinner Cruise)From Zakopane we travel south through the Slovak Republic, stopping at a local inn en-route where you can purchase a light lunch. Continue to Budapest. Tonight a casual dinner cruise on the Danube will be a great way to get your first introduction to Budapest. Overnight in Budapest.

DAY 6, AUG 27, BUDAPEST (B, D)Half-day tour of Budapest will include: Heroes Square, Millenary Monument, Vajdahunyad Castle, Andrássy Boulevard, State Opera House, Basilica, view from Gellért Hill, Castle district, Matthias Church-interior visit, and Fishermen’s Bastion. During our tour we will also visit the Great Market Hall of Budapest, named one of the 5 best markets in Europe! The Market was built in the 18th century and after being badly damaged in WWII was extensively restored in the mid 1990’s to become one of Budapest’s greatest attractions. Enjoy strolling through the stalls filled with fresh produce, spices, as well as Hungarian arts and crafts - a great place to pick up souvenirs to take back home! After our tour the rest of the afternoon is free. Dinner tonight a local restaurant. Overnight in Budapest.

DAY 7, AUG 28, BUDAPEST – BRATISLAVA – VIENNA (B, D) Morning departure from Budapest to Vienna. En-route we stop in Bratislava, capital of the Slovak Republic to explore the charming, cobble-stone centre of the Old Town. Free time for lunch. Continue to Vienna. Tonight we drive to the wine-growing hills on the outskirts of Vienna, to enjoy dinner at a typical “heuriger” (local wine tavern) with local entertainment. Overnight in Vienna.

DAY 8, AUG 29, VIENNA (B, L)Today we discover the magical city of Vienna by bus and by foot. We will start with the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace which was the summer residence of the Habsburg family. We then drive and see the most important historical sights along the Ringstrasse, including the State Opera House, the National Museum, the Imperial Palace, the Parliament, the City Hall and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Our tour today will end with lunch at a typical Viennese Café. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, shopping along the Kartner Strasse, the most famous pedestrian shopping street in centre of Vienna, or visit one of the many Museums. Overnight in Vienna.

DAY 9, AUG 30, VIENNA - CESKY KRUMLOV - PRAGUE (B, L)After breakfast we depart Vienna and drive north to Cesky Krumlov in South Bohemia. Cesky Krumlov is one of the most wonderful medieval cities in Central Europe. This UNESCO heritage site on the Vltava river is perfect for strolling through the maze of cobble-stone streets . Lunch at a local restaurant and then we continue to Prague. The evening is free to explore Prague on your own. Overnight in Prague.

DAY 10, AUG 31, PRAGUE (B, Farewell Dinner)Today we start with a ride on a vintage Prague street car for a special tour that will take us past Republic Square (Namesti Republiky), Wenceslas Square (Vaclavske Namesti), National Theatre, and on to Prague Castle (UNESCO site). According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Prague Castle is the largest castle complex in the world. After visiting the Castle we will continue by foot to the Charles Bridge and across to the Old Town Square with its famous landmarks such as the Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and the unique Astronomical Clock from the year 1410. We will end our tour at the old town so that you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Farewell dinner tonight at a local restaurant. Overnight in Prague.

After arriving in the early afternoon we drive along the Ringstrasse to see the most important historical sights, including the State Opera House, the National Museum, the Hofburg Palace, the Parliament, and the City Hall. A short walk along the Kartner Strasse takes us to St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Later in the afternoon enjoy the sights, sounds and magnificent smells of a Viennese “Christkindlmarkt”. Dinner tonight will be at a legendary Viennese café. Overnight in Vienna.

DAY 4, DEC 5, VIENNA – PRAGUE (B, D)In the morning we visit the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace which was the summer residence of the Habsburg family and then we are off to Prague. Early evening arrival in Prague in time for dinner with folklore show. Overnight in Prague.

DAY 5, DEC 6, PRAGUE (B, L)Today we start with a ride on a vintage Prague street car for a special tour that will take us past Republic Square (Namesti Republiky), Wenceslas Square (Vaclavske Namesti), National Theatre, and on to Prague Castle (UNESCO site). According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Prague Castle is the largest castle complex in the world. After visiting the Castle we will have lunch and then continue by foot to the Charles Bridge and across to the Old Town Square with its famous landmarks such as the Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and the unique Astronomical Clock from the year 1410. We will end our tour at the old town so that you can enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure enjoying the Christmas Market. Overnight in Prague.

DAY 6, DEC 7, PRAGUE – DRESDEN – WROCLAW (B, L)After breakfast we depart Prague and drive north to Dresden. Dresden has the largest number of Christmas markets in the eastern part of Germany and the Striezelmarkt in the centre of Dresden is one of Germany’s oldest Christmas Markets originally started back in the 15th century. You will have the afternoon to explore and enjoy the market at your leisure. We will meet for a late lunch before continuing our journey to Wroclaw. Early evening arrival to your hotel in Wroclaw. DAY 7, DEC 8, WROCLAWEUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2016 (B, D)Morning sightseeing will include Ostrow Tumski, one of the most beautiful and perfectly preserved sacral architecture complexes in Europe. This is where the city was originally settled in the 9th century by a Slavic tribe. DAY 1, ZAGREB (D) Arrival in Zagreb and transfer to the hotel. Welcome drink at the Hotel in Zagreb and the first get together of the group. Get to know each other and your tour manager over a plate of Strukli, a local specialty of the Zagreb area.

DAY 2, ZAGREB – OPATIJA (B, D) Morning walking tour of Zagreb. In the fortified, medieval Upper Town, you will see St. Mark’s church, Parliament, the government palace, and many fine old buildings. After the sightseeing of Zagreb we proceed to Opatija. Situated on Kvarner Bay, Opatija used to be the favorite spa resort of the Habsburgs and European aristocracy. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 3, ISTRIA EXCURSION (B, T) Today it’s time to get to know the Istrian Peninsula and visit the 2000 year old roman Colosseum located in Pula. Afterwards we will relax in Rovinj, perhaps the most beautiful city in Istria and the inspiration of many artists. Free time in Rovinj and departure towards Livade for a sample of one the Istrian tastiest treasures, the truffle. Return to Opatija for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4, OPATIJA – PLITVICE LAKES (B, D) The most beautiful and oldest national park in Croatia under UNESCO protection – consisted of 16 lakes connected by waterfalls. The park is located in Lika mountain region and visited mostly on foot – however the entrance includes a boat ride across the Emerald Green Lake “Kozjak” and a train ride back to the main entrance. The visit of the park grounds takes approx. 3 hours. Dinner at the hotel restaurant and overnight in Plitvice area.

DAY 5, PLITVICE LAKES – SIBENIK – SPLIT (B, T) After breakfast we drive down from the mountain region of Lika via the coast towards the city of Šibenik. The historic town of Šibenik is rich in cultural and historical monuments. The most representative among them is the famous Cathedral of Šibenik (St. Jacobs), one of the most original architectural projects of the late Middle Ages. From Šibenik we continue to the Bibich Winery for a gourmet experience that is more than a simple wine tasting. The winery burnt to the ground during the war is now producing rewarded wines and exporting 80% of their production to USA & Scandinavia. We will taste the dalmatian Debit white wine and Cuvee of Shiraz & Merlot, accompanied with delicious Croatian style Tapas. Departure towards Split for overnight.

DAY 6, SPLIT - TROGIR - SPLIT (B, L) Split is the handiwork of seventeen centuries of men and women building and remodeling , so that 18th century houses intersect with ancient Roman walls and fourth century chambers house twentieth century apartments. At the core of this sprawling cityscape is the palace the Emperor Diocletian built for his golden years at the turn of the fourth century. Today’s lunch will be the traditional Dalmatian dish – Pašticada which we will taste at the Tragos restaurant in Trogir. The town of Trogir, a UNESCO site, has a fascinating 2300 years of continuous urban tradition & rich culture influenced by the Greeks, Romans, and Venetians. Return to Split for overnight.

DAY 7, SPLIT – STON – DUBROVNIK (B, T, D) On our way to Dubrovnik we will stop in the town of Ston, where we visit the “MILOŠ” winery and taste the famous “Plavac Mali” wine, a very close relative to the Zinfandel. In this winery the traditional wine making business has been passed on for generations. Our visit includes a wine presentation on the wine-making process, a visit to the old part of the cellar, wine tasting and a short movie about Plavac Mali, Peljesac peninsula and the Milos wines. Continue to Dubrovnik for overnight.

DAY 8, DUBROVNIK(B, D) Completed in the thirteen century, the old city of Dubrovnik has remained basically unchanged . Its medieval ramparts encircle the city which pedestrians can enter through one of two gates - either way, they cross a stone bridge under the watchful gaze of the city’s patron Saint Blaise (Vlaho), to find themselves joining the promenade down the broad, stone-paved avenue known as Stradun. After the sightseeing free time to explore the city by yourself.DAY 9, DUBROVNIK (B) After Breakfast transfer to the airport. End of tour.

DAY 1, ZAGREB (D)Welcome to Zagreb! You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure until a Welcome Dinner tonight.

DAY 2, ZAGREB - KUMROVEC - ZAGREB (B, D) During the morning sightseeing tour, a local expert unfurls the rich culture and history of the two-tiered capital of Croatia. You will walk through the medieval core of the Upper Town to see the Stone Gate, Lotrscak Tower, the Cathedral, Parliament and Government Palace. In the afternoon, a scenic drive to Kumrovec, the birthplace of the late Marshall Tito, president of the former Yugoslavia, whose house has been turned into a

museum. The major attraction in Kumrovec is the Ethnological Museum Staro Selo. Later we follow a winding road through the Zagorje Hills for an early dinner of genuine local specialties and wine at a local restaurant/farm with magnificent views of a 15th century castle. Return to Zagreb for overnight.

DAY 3, ZAGREB - PLITVICE LAKES (B, D)Journey south to visit Plitvice Lakes National Park, listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Have your camera ready and take a walking tour around several of the lower lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder with 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. After your visit, remainder of the day to relax in this beautiful green oasis. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 4, PLITVICE - ETHNOLAND DALMATI - HVAR (B, L)Today we journey into the heart of Dalmatian culture and visit Ethnoland Dalmati, where our experience begins with a welcome ceremony. We will listen to Dalmatians tell stories of their ancestors, and learn about their customs and traditions. We will also feast on a lunch of local delicacies. In the afternoon we board the ferry and sail to Hvar Island.

DAY 5, HVAR (B)The town of Hvar has a unique cultural and historical heritage, plus a centuries old tradition in tourism. A morning walk reveals Hvar’s Venetian flavor, with view of the Fortress, Franciscan Monastery and more. Afterwards, enjoy the “lavender experience”, a drive inland to view the spectacular variety of landscapes: vineyard covered hills, olive groves and undulating fields of lavender and rosemary. Tonight relax and enjoy this charming island, listed by Conde Nast Travel magazine as one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world.

DAY 6, HVAR - SPLIT (B, D)Leave the island life behind as you return to the mainland. Upon arrival in Split enjoy a walking tour of the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace- a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.

DAY 7, SPLIT - MEDJUGORJE - MOSTAR - STON - DUBROVNIK (B, D)Cross the border into Bosnia and Herzegovina and first stop at the small town of Medjugorje, one of the most famous places of pilgrimage in the Catholic world. The journey then takes us to Mostar to walk across the famous Stari Most that was reconstructed after being almost completely destroyed during the war. In the afternoon, a drive along the picturesque Croatian coast reveals the natural beauty of the area. Taste delicious oysters at a local restaurant in Ston before reaching Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of the Adriatic”.

DAY 8, DUBROVNIK (B)In the morning there will be a walking tour of “Old Dubrovnik” to see: Onofrio’s Fountain, the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column and the Sponza Palace. You will also see the Dominican Monastery and the Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is at leisure to stroll along the ancient city walls, browse the shops or just relax.

By the acceptance of such coupons, exchange orders, receipts, contracts and tickets, the tour member agrees to the foregoing, and also agree that the Company shall not be or become liable or responsible for any loss, injury, or damage to person, property or otherwise in connection with any transportation, accommodation, meals, tours or other services referred to herein, or resulting from the neglect or default of any person, firm, corporation or other entity engaged to supply the same. The tour operator reserves the right to withdraw a tour, to refuse to accept or retain any person as a member of a tour at any time, or to make changes in the itinerary whenever, in their sole judgment, conditions warrant; or if such changes result from circumstances beyond the control of the tour operator; or if they deem it necessary for the comfort, convenience or safety of the passengers. They can accept no responsibility for the losses or additional expenses due to the delay or changes in air or other services, sickness, weather, strike, war, quarantine, or other causes. All such losses must be borne by the passenger as tour rates provide for arrangements only for the time specified. Such alterations may be made without penalty to the tour operator. Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by the passengers. In all cases a full refund shall not exceed the amount paid by the passenger.
