About theFACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Indian management schools and premier Universities are

constantly investing more towards adding value to their

students through innovative pedagogical tools. Quality

education is dependent on competent faculty, motivated

students, and an appropriate mix of pedagogical

approaches. In the present day context the most popular

pedagogy among the academic fraternity is 'Case Method

of Teaching'. Case Method is considered an “art” and a

“science” of teaching that takes time to master and also

needs to be supported by solid processes; but once

mastered is most useful and rewarding for both the

instructor and the participant. Case method is demanding

because the instructor has to prepare not just the content,

but also the “process” with which this content will be

delivered. Preparing the content requires a deep

understanding of the subject as well as the personalities of

the participants.

This program has been designed by instructors who have

been using the case method pedagogy and it will be

conducted by faculty that has practiced case-method as a

core philosophy of learning for many years. The program is

open to any one who intend to use case methodology to

enhance and enrich the common pool of knowledge in the

contemporary area of finance.

The program is designed with the following objectives:

Provide opportunity to academic institutes and

coporates to develop their faculty and corporate trainers

through exposure to case method philosophy and

processes by leveraging the collective experience of

faculty from various reputed Universities and Premier

B-Schools.

Provide opportunity to the participants to understand

the core philosophy if participant centric learning:

Develop the ability to design programs and courses

that follow this approach;

Learning techniques for effective use of case-

method in class;

Understand the role and responsibilities of case-

method instructors

Highlight important issues as well as the strengths and

pitfalls in using this approach to teaching.

Enable the participants to self-evaluate and identify the

specific areas that they need to improve in order to

enhance their role as facilitators of learning.

The FDP offer an interactive, actionable learning

experience for the esteemed participants to develop

personal and professional strengths and lead their

respective organizations into an increasingly competitive

academic environment.

VALUE ADDITION

Cases describe actual business situations and bring into the classroom, problems and opportunities faced by real time corporate executives. The participants analyse problems, evaluate alternatives and recommend appropriate solutions which help enhance decision-making abilities, and problem-solving skills. The dynamic exchange of knowledge and experience among successful individuals from different organizations and functions enhances learning. Valuable ideas and insights are shared with fellow participants and faculty in and out of the classroom. Group study provides a forum where you benefit from the diversity of views, perspectives and abilities of other team members. This program also provides excellent networking opportunities.
