LSS Manager Programmes offered by the college

HoDs/Programme Managers/Snr.Lecturers
Programmes and/or subjects they oversee, but which they do not teach
LSS Facilitators(the will predominantely be HoDs, Programme Managers or Snr. Lecturers
Programmes and/or subjects they oversee, but which they do not teach
Lecturers Subjects the teach in the shool year and are expected to teach in the next school year
LSS Manager is responsible for (1/2)
Timely action and responses to DHET LSS communication
Introduction of LSS to college managers, LSS facilitators and
lecturers
LSS registration of College Managers
LSS Registration of college and of college lecturers
Updating of all registrations
LSS monitoring and reporting to DHET as required
Planning and Scheduling of LSS activities
Ensure time scheduled for lecturers to work on LSS support
activities
Ensure College is well prepared and ready (venue, logistics,
technology and lecturer availability) to participate in LSS lecturer
support sessions.
LSS Manager is responsible for (2/2)
Organise LSS lecturer support sessions as required
Ensure 80% lecturer attendance in sessions
College responsiveness to DHET request related to lecturer
support requirements as per DHET standards
Participate in mandatory LSS Manager Training sessions
Facilitation of generic (non subject specific) lecturer support
programmes
LSS Facilitator Training
LSS Induction for new lecturers
Annual Re-registration of all college lecturers
Share college resources obtained from national and
international collaboration
LSS Facilitator is responsible for
Firstly, LSS Facilitators are HoD, Snr. Lecturers and Programme
Managers.
They CANNOT be lecturers with teaching responsibilities.
Register and update own LSS Registration
Access LSS at least once a week to explore possible new generic
(PORTAL) and subject specific resources and communication.
Facilitate LSS activies as per DHET requirements and standards
Monitor and Mentor Lecturer Performance as per DHET requiremetns
Participate in LSS related development activities (e.g. Facilitator and
mentorship training) as required by DHET
Stimulate and monitor LSS use by lecturers in own area of responsibility
Lecturers
Register as a LSS subscriber
Log on and explore LSS at minimum once/2 weeks
Attend LSS development sessions as required
Complete LSS activities/assignments as required
Provide information on own competency gaps
Improve own lesson plans and teaching for improved
curriculum delivery
Feedback on experience
College Manager (Campus, HoD etc.)
Monitor LSS performance of own LSS Facilitators and
Lecturers
Check available LSS resources and their adoption
Actively supports Lecturers to participate in LSS
Actively supports HoD/Programme Manager/Snr.Lecturers in
their LSS responsibilities
