aspects; applications for use in the practice; and communication through videos. In addition,
Dr. Ritter will provide a systematic and logical approach for the preparation, provisionalization,
imprisoning, and delivery for successful veneer restoration. Specific preparation guidelines,
adhesive and resin cement selection, and how to optimize their performance will be
emphasized.

Understand how best to market a dental practice.
Learn the Applications available for effective practice communication.
Review of current adhesives and cements.
Understand how to create consistent esthetic results for veneer restorations.

“Clinical Session: Core Treatment Planning” Anthony Di Cesare, DDS
Over the years, we have implemented the Robbins/Rouse model of
Core Treatment Planning and discovered what an excellent tool it is for
thorough and effective treatment preparation. The presentation of
cases, along with the participation of treatment considerations by our
members, continues to reinforce this concept and benefit everyone in
case planning and outcome. Various speakers have complimented JCDF
members on their advanced comprehension and implementation of
Core treatment planning as well as their engaging interaction during
presentations. Come prepared to put your heads together with your
colleagues as we treatment plan active cases.

“It’s (Medically) Complicated” Thomas Viola, R.Ph., C.C.P
The challenge faced by all dental professionals today is the safe and effective management of
medically complex patients. Knowledge of the medications most frequently prescribed for the
management of systemic illnesses as well as the medications prescribed for the management of
post-therapeutic dental pain has never been more essential for proper patient care. This
program will provide an overview of the clinical dental considerations of the most frequently
prescribed medications as well as opioid and non-opioid analgesics. Special emphasis will be
given to patient care planning and appropriate prescribing practices for application in everyday
clinical situations.
Learning objectives:
Identify the most frequently prescribed medications and review their basic mechanisms
of action, therapeutic indications, potential adverse reactions and drug interactions.
Describe the pharmacology of non-opioid and opioid analgesics, including their
therapeutic effects, and their potential for abuse.
Discuss the clinical dental considerations of these medications and their potential
impact on dental therapy.
In addition to his daily practice of the profession of pharmacy, Thomas Viola also serves the dental
professions as a clinical educator, published writer and professional speaker. Tom is a member of the
faculty of eight colleges, as well as several national board exam review courses. He is a contributor to
several dental professional journals and serves on the Advisory Board for General Dentistry and as the
