Code Club is an extra-curricular, after school computer programming club. It operates during

Terms 2 and 3.

Through the Australian Curriculum, the ICT curriculum is changing, with the Digital Technology

component recently endorsed. The new curriculum will equip children with the skills they need

to become active participants of this fast-paced digital world.

Code Club teaches the children much more than how to programme a computer. The projects are

fun, creative and will help your child understand how to solve problems by breaking them down

into smaller problems. In the first instance, we will be learning to program using software called

Scratch.

Scratch is a downloadable program for your Windows, Linux or Mac that makes it easy for your children to program their own interactive stories, games and animations, through colourful drag- and-drop blocks. It comes with some background images, characters and sounds ready to use, but you can also add your own images and sounds, making it even more fun! You can also use Scratch with a web browser using an internet connection. For further information about Scratch, visit http://scratch.mit.edu

College Musical Trinity College offers our students the opportunity to be a part of the College Musical. The College Musical is open for all students from Years 9 -12 both on and off stage, including leads. Students in Years 7 and 8 are able to audition to be a part of the ensemble.

The standard of the College Musical requires a great deal of dedication and commitment. If students are not able to make the designated rehearsal times due to other commitments, they will not be able to be a part of the on-stage team. There are opportunities for students with other commitments to join the backstage team and take on a different role throughout the process.

On-Stage

Our most advanced performers are given the opportunity to audition for lead roles, this may require a combination of singing, dancing and acting. We also have a dance team that will work with a professional choreographer. An ability to take direction and risks in the performance space is essential.
