The goal of TRICOM was to replace the states aging legacy systems with a single system of record thatwould help improve access to information and lead to increased operational efficiency.

The first phase of the TRICOM initiative focused on HR and Payroll called for an implementation of theSAP ERP Human Capital Management solution.

Today the state enjoys a single, integrated solution that standardizes human resources and payrollprocesses statewide. This has allowed the state to reduce the number of monthly payroll cycles from 10 to2.

The state now uses a unique employee ID that stays with the employee from hire to retire. This has alsohelped significantly reduce the time required to reconcile healthcare billings.
