Introduction This installation supports release 2.08.02 of Travelport Booking Feed (TBF). Previously, this product was known as Galileo Integrated Data Source (GIDS or Galileo IDS). Versioning for this product has remained the same; therefore, Travelport Booking Feed 2.08.02 supersedes Galileo Integrated Data Source 2.07.

This Installation Guide supports installation for the following Travelport Booking Feed (TBF) components.

The TBF installation includes:

TBF 2.08.02 Adapter, including Java version 15.0_13.

This application serves as the interface between the Galileo® or Apollo® GDS system and the customer’s local database. The TBF Adapter:

1. Pulls agency information from the Apollo and/or Galileo queue.

2. Parses the data.

The currently supported databases are Microsoft® SQL Server® and Sybase® Adaptive Server®. For a list of recommended databases, including Adaptive Server and SQL Server, see “Software Prerequisites” on page 2.

Setup scripts are included for the client database for both Adaptive Server and SQL Server. These setup scripts can be installed with the adapter or manually installed, as preferred.

Note: Versions 2.05 and earlier of the TBF installation included a companion Nortel Contivity VPN installation for customers that did not already have the necessary connectivity to Galileo or Apollo. The Nortel installation is no longer included as part of the TBF installation. See “Connectivity” on page 2 for connectivity options with the current release of TBF.

See the following companion documents for more information about implementing TBF:

Prerequisites The following requirements should be confirmed before installing TBF.

Hardware Prerequisites The recommended/minimum hardware requirements to run TBF are:

Recommended Hardware

Intel® Pentium® 4 (or later) with 1 GB RAM

Note: The TBF installation is approximately 40 MB.

1 GB of hard disk space

CD-ROM drive

Minimum Hardware

Intel® Pentium Intel® 200 with 256 MB RAM

500 MB of hard disk space

CD-ROM drive

Note: The TBF Client Adapter can be configured to exclusively log XML data and bypass the client database for receiving data. In this implementation, the XML data logs must be manually deleted. Therefore, the hard drive must allow for enough space to capture the anticipated amount of logs accumulate between purges.

See “Host XML Logging” in the TBF Product Overview for details.

Software Prerequisites Each user is required to purchase and install the following software in support of TBF.

Operating System

Any version of Microsoft® Windows® or Microsoft Server® currently supported by Microsoft.

Recommended Databases

For customers who choose to use a database to receive TBF data, the following databases are recommended:

Microsoft® SQL Server®

Sybase® Adaptive Server®

Recent versions of both Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase Adaptive Server have worked successfully with TBF to date, although not all versions have been formally certified. Contact your representative if you encounter difficulties with using TBF in conjunction with a specific version of these products.

If you do not have either of these databases, you can download trial versions from www.microsoft.com or www.sybase.com.

Reporting Software

For customers who want to produce ready-made reports for management teams, it is recommended that an application, such as Crystal Reports, is used with the database.

Connectivity Internet connectivity is the standard method to access TBF. However, if a site currently has a direct IP subscriber line to Galileo or Apollo, or already has Extranet installed for an application, a VPN connection does not need to be installed.

Previous versions of the TBF installation included a companion Nortel® Contivity VPN installation for customers that did not already have the necessary connectivity to Galileo or Apollo. The Nortel installation is no longer included as part of the TBF installation.

The following connectivity options are supported with this version of TBF:

SSL connection (Recommended)

If SSL is being used for connectivity, customer must also have Port 443 open to gdssl-atl.galileo.com. Refer to the SSL Installation Guide for further details. A copy of the guide is available at http://support.galileo.com/aps.

Existing unmanaged VPN connection

Directly connected lease line

Contact your Travelport representative to discuss connectivity options suitable for your environment.

Connection Speed

A high-speed connection, such as DSL or Broadband, is required. A dialup connection is not supported, as even low-volume customers may experience difficulties such as backed up queues that lead to a potential loss of data.

Note: The TBF product is not a query/reply (synchronous) architecture whereby clients initiate a request and receive a real-time response. Instead, TBF uses a workflow (asynchronous) architecture in which data volume represents a combination of all available data for TBF-designated transactions at a given time. Therefore, an individual agency’s response time can be affected by the aggregate volume of transactions.

Queues

A Queue ID for each customer queue will be assigned by Travelport. Depending on the expected data load, more than one TBF queue may be required. See the TBF Product Overview to help determine the number of required queues.

Additional connectivity permissions may be required, depending on the type of connection.

Firewall Settings

If TBF is used through a direct connection, i.e., a leased line rather than a VPN connection, the following firewall settings must be adhered to:

If the market runs its own network, they must also ensure that they open Port 1415 on their firewall.

If SSL is being used for connectivity, customer must also have Port 443 open to gdssl-atl.galileo.com.

Refer to the SSL Installation Guide for further details. A copy of the guide is available at http://support.galileo.com/aps.

Before You Begin Before you begin installing Travelport Booking Feed/GIDS 2.08.02, the following tasks should be performed.

Updating from Earlier Versions Important! If you are updating from an earlier version of TBF, be sure to include these additional steps before installing TBF 2.08.02:

Make note of the current version of TBF/GIDS. You will be asked to provide this version during the installation process.

If you are unsure of your current version, click the support information link of Travelport Booking Feed in the Add or Remove Programs window in the Control Panel.

Back up all existing files and databases, including logs. While the database is not removed during installation, the installation will attempt to update it.

In addition, the TBF folder is deleted and all files in this folder should be backed up. By default, this folder is located in C:\Program Files\Galileo International\.

Record all configurations from the TBF Adapter Console (page 13), including the Queue Name and MQ Host Destinations.

If you are running TBF as a service the console data is available through the wrapper.log files. See the “Logging” section TBF Product Overview for details.

Uninstall the existing TBF application from your system. If you attempt to install TBF 2.08.02 over your existing version of TBF/GIDS, you will receive an error message, and be asked to uninstall your current version. See “Uninstalling the TBF Adapter” on page 23 for instructions.

Installing a SQL Server If you have not already installed a SQL database server (see “Software Prerequisites” on page 2), it is recommended that you install the server before installing or updating TBF 2.08.02. The TBF 2.08.02 installation includes an automatic installation for a Microsoft® SQL Server® database.

If you choose to install the database server after you install TBF 2.08.02, see “Manually Installing/Updating the Client Database” on page 15 for instructions.

Customers who choose to use a direct XML feed of TBF data do not need to install a database.

Manually Installing/Updating the Client Database

By default, the TBF installation programmatically creates or updates the client database installation for Microsoft® SQL Server®. See “Software Prerequisites” on page 2 for a list of recommended databases.

However, if you chose not to run the database scripts automatically during the installation, i.e., if you pressed Skip in Step 12 of the installation on page 9, you must manually install or update to the database. In this case, the changes to the client database schemas must be manually configured to allow new data content to be stored.

By default, all database scripts required to build the database are located in C:\Program Files\Galileo International\GIDS\sql_scripts, where C: in the hard drive in which the TBF application is installed.

To manually install or update the client database:

Note: It is not necessary to export existing data. Changes to the schema will result in null values in new columns for existing data rows in tables that are updated.

1. From the TBF database server or a machine with remote connectivity to the TBF database, invoke your database interface tool of choice, such as Microsoft® SQL Server® Enterprise Manager.

2. Open a connection to the TBF database and open a SQL Query Analyzer, if necessary.

3. Open (or cut-and-paste) the SQL alter script using the following format, where script is the script file.

For Microsoft SQL Server databases, use: <InstallationDir>\Galileo International\GIDS\sql_scripts\SQL Server\script.sql.

For Sybase databases, use <InstallationDir>\Galileo International \GIDS\sql_scripts\Sybase\script.sql.

The alter scripts vary depending on the type of TBF installation:

For upgrades from GIDS version 2.04 and earlier, run the following scripts: alter_2.05.sql airsegoperatingcarrier_script.sql obfees_script.sql

For upgrades from TBF version 2.05, run the following scripts: airsegoperatingcarrier_script.sql obfees_script.sql

For new installations, run the following script: databaseCreate.sql

If the update is not applied to the database schema, the TBF Adapter will not collect the new data on inbound transactions, resulting in errors. The entire transaction does not fail, however, warning messages are returned for the affected schema. For example:

WARNING : Air Segment Operating Carrier update available, however AirSegOperatingCarrier table not created in the database. If you want to use Air Segment Operating Carrier, please create table using SQL script otherwise ignore. Remaining information updated successfully.

ID = 1

To eliminate these errors, the database schema can be updated at any time after installation.

Setting Up the ODBC Connection

For new installations, after the database server is configured the ODBC connection must be set up. This connection allows the client database to communicate with the Galileo or Apollo data source. For updates of existing installations, confirm that the ODBC connection is working properly.

This setup is not required for TBF configurations that receive a direct XML log feed, which requires no database or ODBC connection.

The instructions for this also task vary depending on the operating system. This section provides instructions for setting up the ODBC connection in both 32- and 64-bit operating systems.

Setting Up the ODBC Connection in a 64-Bit Operating System

Due to a deficiency in the Microsoft 64-bit ODBC driver, Microsoft recommends that the ODBC system DSN should be run using 32-bit ODBC drivers. Using the 32-bit drivers will eliminate errors received in the TBF console and logs that indicate ODBC driver errors.

To set up the ODBC connection in a 64-bit operating system:

Microsoft recommends that you DO NOT use the Data Source configuration tools normally found in Administration Tools.

Instead, run the ODBC configuration tool, which is typically found in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. When opened, this tool defaults to Windows 32-bit ODBC driver, SQLSRV32.DLL.

After running the executable for the 32-bit driver, the DSN can be configured using the same parameters provided in the following instructions for 32-bit operating systems. Skip Steps 1–3 in Setting Up the ODBC Connection for a 32-bit Operating System, and begin with Step 4 to ensure that you are configuring the 32-bit driver.

There are no additional changes required to configure the database and server for 64-bit systems.

Setting Up the ODBC Connection in a 32-bit Operating System

The following example sets up an ODBC connection, GIDS, for a machine that:

Runs SQL Server on the same machine as the TBF Adapter.

Note: Remote connections will require a slightly different setup.

Uses Microsoft® SQL Server® 2005.

Note: The location of the ODBC application may vary depending upon the version of Windows you are using.

To set up the ODBC connection in a 32-bit operating system:

1. From the Windows Start menu, open the Control Panel.

2. Double-click the Administrative Tools icon to open the Administrative Tools folder.

3. Double-click the Data Sources (ODBC) icon.

Running the TBF Adapter After successfully installing and configuring the Client Adapter, client database, and ODBC connection, you can start the Client Adapter.

Note: The TBF Adapter Console (page 13) is not available if TBF is installed as a service. However, the console data is available through the wrapper.log files. See the “Logging” section of TBF Product Overview for details.

If running TBF as a Windows service, the service opens with the Windows startup, if chosen. Confirmation of a successful start up, connection to TBF server, and queue connection, as well as other positive acknowledgments can be viewed in wrapper.log.

To start the TBF Adapter:

Open the TBF Adapter from the TBF 2.08.02 Configuration shortcut or from the Windows Start menu in All Programs > Galileo International > Travelport Booking Feed 2.08.02.

If the TBF Adapter starts successfully, the following message displays:

The waiting for message… line is present until a message is placed on the TBF queue. After a message is received, a transaction number is assigned to the message and displays on the screen. For example, the first three messages will display:

ID=1

ID=2

ID=3

These messages correspond to the TransactionOrderIdentifier field in the database.

Uninstalling the TBF Adapter Important! The TBF adapter must be uninstalled before installing an upgraded version of TBF; the TBF installation does not automatically uninstall previous versions of TBF.

To uninstall the TBF adapter:

1. Before uninstalling the TBF adapter, it is recommended that you record your TBF Configuration (page 13), so that the existing configuration can be duplicated for the new installation.

2. From the Windows Start menu, select Control Panel.

3. From the Control Panel window, select Add or Remove Programs to display the Add or Remove Programs dialog box.
