Customer benefit

Improvements to shopping entries which provide increased flexibility in how an agent shops within Smartpoint.

The inclusion of additional modifiers and follow on entries enabling an agent to work faster and more productively within Smartpoint

Hotel screen design changes make it easier to search and sell hotels

By including private fare indicators in the branded fares screens, an agent can now determine up or down sell opportunities for the fares which are relevant to their customers.

Detail and customer examples

1. Dual Currency for selling ancillaries Some countries are dual currency and airlines accept payments in specific currencies. This enhancement enables an agent to specifying a currency when requesting ancillaries.

To see the currency option, just click on shopping cart. You will now see the ancillary currency screen displays and it defaults to agency currency



You can now change the currency to EUR.

Click Continue. The ancillaries display in EUR currency and the agent can select the desired ancillaries.

Click Review. Ancillaries are still shown in EUR.



Now click Apply, and the confirmation displays:

Ancillaries are booked in EUR.



2. Seat Guru information on seat maps Smartpoint seat maps have been enhanced to include SeatGuru information about seats on a flight. SeatGuru information is not available for all flights, but when it is available, is identified by a Seat Guru banner on the bottom right of the seat map screen.

1. The SeatGuru key, the same as you would see on their website, displays with the seat map and helps the

agent to identify information about the different seats. Each seat has a colour indicator in the top left hand corner of the seat.

2. If a user hovers their mouse over a seat, the SeatGuru seat information will display SeatGuru information is available for seat maps viewed either from a prebooked or a booked PNR, whenever you view a seatmap.

Please note: For United Airlines and Delta Airlines, SeatGuru will only be available when viewing a seat map with a booked PNR.

3. Ability to use more availability modifiers and follow on entries and return interactive ‘clickable’ screens

Additional modifiers used in air availability requests and follow on entries are now supported in Smartpoint, and where applicable will also return interactive responses, so the agent can point and click on the screen to get additional information or sell seats etc. This brings greater parity with modifiers and follow on entries which are available to use in Focalpoint but giving the additional benefit that these entries can be used interactively with Smartpoint. 4. Hotel Improvements 4a. Hotel Images In partnership with ICE Portal, many of the hotel properties in Smartpoint now provide a wider selection of images, 360° views and videos. When an agent views hotel images, they will be able to identify if they have been provided by ICE Portal from their logo.



An agent can click the drop down menu on the left side of the window to see either Photos, Videos, 360 tours or Information relating to the property. Note: On the very first time to attempt to access an ICE Portal property and view the 360 tour without Flash Player, you’ll see the message below. The step by step instructions to download Flash Player has been added in the appendix section of this document.



4b. Hotel screen changes Improvements have been made to the "Hotel Availability Search" screen and ‘Hotel Availability Maps’.

a) Addition of a distance selection qualifier which allows for an agent to search using either miles or kilometres

now smart-fill boxes, so entering the first two letters of the supplier code for the hotel (e.g IC for Intercontinental Hotels) will enable a user to select the hotel supplier more quickly.

e) Addition of Rate Category qualifiers drop down menus, so an agent can easily select the preferred choice. Up to 3 Rate Categories can be selected in each search request.

a) On the Hotel Availability Map, the distance is now shown when the agent hovers over a pin. The hover over is now a true hover over, instead of having to click on pin to show details

5. Re design of ‘Create/Edit Booking File Remarks’

The PNR menu item ‘Create/Edit Booking File Remarks’, has been enhanced to

Notepad Qualifier For each new remark, a qualifier can be added to the text. Clicking on ‘New Notepad Qualifier’ opens a new window.

In the “Category” dropdown menu one option between “Historical”, “Note” and “Confidential” can be selected;

In the “Qualifier” textbox the actual qualifier can be introduced;

This field is restricted to one alpha CAPS ONLY character;

In the “Notepad name” enter a brief description which will appear in the left hand menu.

An agent can load the list of Notepad items from an external source file (by clicking on the “Load” button and selecting the source xml file);

Notepad qualifiers can be removed by selecting them from the left menu and clicking ‘Remove’ Create your own Notepad Qualifiers

6. Branded Fare Screens can now display upsell/down sell options from fare quotes which include private fare modifiers, account codes and currency override.

Modifiers The Fare Quote and Fare Shop entries now supports these modifiers FQ (:C,:P,:N) with the branded fares screen. So if these entries are used in the fare quote and the agent clicks to view the branded fares screen, the upsell/down sell options will relate to the modifiers used in the original fare quote entry.



Account Codes When carrying out a fare shop or fare quote including an account code, the branded fare screen will display upsell/down sell opportunities relating to the account code. Currency override If an agent has entered a currency override command in a fare quote, the branded fares screen will show this and be able to do a currency override from branded fares flow (fare quote) based on the currency code provided in the input fare quote command. if a currency override was performed. <o:p>

7. Including private fares in branded fare screens Up until now, if an agent was shopping or fare quoting with a private fare, this wasn’t indicated in the branded fares screens. This meant, an upsell couldn’t be made to a private fare, only public fare. This release includes the display of a new indicator which identifies the private fare, on the branded fares screens. This enables an agent to upsell a branded fares to an additional private fare, or a public fare.

The indicator identifies a Private Fare. A private fare in this case is an Airline Private Fare, Agency Private Fare, Net Fare, any other Private Fare loaded.



Should the agent make an upsell/down sell selection from the branded fares screen, which isn’t combinable, then a message will be displayed at the top of the screen.

8. Quick Commands An additional enhancement has been made to the quick commands menu, where an agent can now load and use commands available for the whole agency, known as ‘Company’ quick commands. Once loaded, these commands can be used by all agents, but not edited. These can be used alongside the currently available Quick Commands which have been configured by the agent. For instructions on how to install these quick commands please see ASK AN14579.

Appendix – Flash Player

1.) On the very first time to attempt to access an ICE Portal property without Flash Player you’ll see the message below. Below is the step by step instructions to download Flash Player.



2.) Click on the “Get ADOBE” FLASH PLAYER button/icon:

3.) You’ll be redirected to the Adobe Flash Player download page:



a. Click on the Install Now button

b. The page will start downloading the install file and then show a dialog asking where to save

the install file (you can save it anywhere but save it somewhere where you will remember it in case you have to run it more than once)

c. Press Save d. As soon as it’s downloaded, it will show this:

e. Select Yes



f. Press Run

g. Press Next h. Install starts



i. Select Finish and then restart Smartpoint
