Introduction

ABAQUS Performances Faster in calculation time even for second order

element type. Definition of contacts. Good and validated contact methodologies. You can do the tasks with geometry and mesh. Also, it has optimization methods.

ABAQUS will have two ways to model analysis deck.

• Interactive Edition.• Keyword Edition.

Introduction

ABAQUS will have two solvers. ABAQUS/Standard (Static L and NL) ABAQUS/Explicit (Dynamic L and NL)

ABAQUS can be used for both Static and Dynamic analysis of linear and nonlinear types.

ABAQUS will have good capability in handling contacts.

Also, it has CFD capabilities.

Following operations can be done for the geometries in ABAQUS/CAE

Creation of simple geometry. You can import the geometry (from CATIA,

UG etc). Edit/Cleaning up the geometries. Do the Booleans operations of geometry. Modifications of geometries even after the

mesh. (like resizing of fillets, holes and cut –outs etc).

Following FE methods in ABAQUS/CAE 2D Mesh. (Auto/Mapped)

Line mesh. 2D Mesh.

3D Mesh. (Auto/Mapped) 2D to 3D Mesh. 3D Mesh, Sweep Mesh, Drag/Bottom up mesh etc.

Mesh Modifications like edit, move, offset a node etc.

Check the mesh qualities etc. Create the sets/groups for nodes and elements

and also element faces etc.
