TRAINERS

• BARBARA BARTCZAK

Barbara holds a PhD in German Culture and Literature from the University of Wroclaw and an expert degree in Organizational and Managerial Communication of Central Connecticut State University New Britain, Connecticut and Center for Excellence Wroclaw University of Technology.

On regular basis Barbara is living and working in the Netherlands and in Germany. She has over 10 years of experience in conducting intercultural trainings aimed at supporting managers from all over the world. Her training methods are combined in a way, which supports the balance of body, mind and spirit.

Barbara has provided intercultural and communication trainings in Poland, Germany, India, Thailand and Singapore. She has authored publications on intercultural communication and business author of series of articles on cross-cultural differences. She is honorable member and co-founder of the Polish branch of the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research.

Except for being passionate about international issues, she is an active investigator of current development policies of the Global South as well as of the MEDA countries. Barbara is interested in human psychology in Zen philosophy and coaching. She is in the last year of the Therapist Training in the Humaniversity© in the Netherlands. She immediately turns the acquired skills into business modules.

• ANDREAS HAUSER

Andreas Hauser has an academic background in business economics and tourism management in Germany, Spain and the Netherlands. For the master dissertation of his postgraduate MBA in International Management Consulting, finishing with distinction, he investigated into the area of intercultural business ethics in consulting. A systemic formation as a business coach for personality development (‘psychology of change’) tops off his professional background.

For over ten years, Andreas was working as a self-employed consultant for international infrastructure and development projects, with long-term assignments in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Further to heading planning and management tasks, his responsibilities also included the organization, leadership and moderation of intercultural and interdisciplinary work groups.

In his 10 years as intercultural leadership trainer and coach, Andreas has a record of successfully preparing over 7,000 managers and executives from more than 120 countries for intercultural projects, collaborations and challenges. In Germany alone, 15 of the current DAX 30 companies are his clients, with a focus on the sectors automotive, banks, insurances, consumer goods, IT, chemistry, medicine, infrastructures and public sector institutions. Andreas actively integrates his own longstanding experience with international private and public organizations. He has published on current topics like business ethics and intercultural project management.

His travels to over 90 countries of the world and his work in four continents have given Andreas a deep understanding of what it takes to lead and work successfully across cultural barriers and boundaries.

TRAINERS

• JANA HOLLÁ

Jana Hollá is a freelance intercultural consultant, facilitator and trainer focusing primarily on intercultural competence building, relocation training and support, and multi-cultural teamwork. She works both for the profit and non-for-profit sectors, drawing on her experience of living and working internationally for over eighteen years

Jana holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, and has a Masters in Ethnology. She worked on, and her passion still lies in, (Arab) East-West intercultural relations and dialogue. Over the past decade, Jana has designed and facilitated trainings and workshops in some twenty countries predominantly in Europe and the Middle East, drawing heavily on the latest findings in Developmental and Organizational Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, Sociology and Business Studies.

A former president of the Young Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research (Young SIETAR), she maintains an active membership. Jana regularly cooperates with the Karlshochshule International University in delivering their Intercultural Summer Academy program; currently, she also joined the teaching faculty at the Summer Institute on Intercultural Communication in Portland, USA. She recently published her first book on intercultural competence practice in study-abroad context – Us and Them. On Belonging, Difference and Cultural Adaptation.

A native of Slovakia, Jana has taken up residence in Cairo, Egypt, in 2004 where she’s been enjoying living what she preaches.
