Time Management Skills to Stay productive

Time management skills plays a crucial role for a successful personal and career life. Managing time effectively not only allows to complete work on time but also help stay positive and disciplined. Here is the list of things that one needs to incorporate in everyday life to stay productive at work.

Get up early:

If you get up at 5:30 in the morning during the week then it’s a good idea to try and stick to your routine at the weekend. I am not saying you don’t deserve a lie in but sticking to your early morning routine can be a big boost to your weekends productivity.

Have a planPersonally I don’t think that its necessary to plan your weekends to the same extent that you plan your weekdays. Pencilling in a 90 minute meeting with your parents to “catchup and discuss life” does not sound very appealing. Instead think of 2 – 3 things, max, that you would like to get done each day. It could be something as simple as taking your suits to the dry-cleaners or catch up on some reading. What ever it is having a list of 2 – 3 tasks will help get them off of your mind and done.

Stay Active

If you are working flat out during the week then make some time for exercise on your weekends. Instantly, it will help to clear your head, reduce stress and give you a much needed energy boost.

Take some time for friends and family

For me there is nothing better for than spending some time with my friends and family. Grabbing a coffee, having a laugh, catching up on the latest gossip and sharing problems is a great way to de-stress and find clarity.

Active relaxation

There is a world of difference between sitting on the couch and watching TV to relax and taking some time to reflect, meditate or clear your head to relax. Relaxation helps to get rid of stress and negative thoughts from the mind allowing oneself to have a peace of mind.

Plan the week ahead / Make lists

Finally, with all the free time you’ve gained its a great idea to keep some time on Sunday evenings to plan your week ahead. Going in to work on Monday with a clear view of what needs to be done is a great way to stay productive.

Conclusion

Time management is important for your personal life and career success. There you have it, tips, hacks and tricks of how I plan and spend my weekends.
