Extend Before and After School Care at Launching Place Primary School
Our Weekly Recap
It has been a great week weather wise this week. We have loved getting outside in the sunshine.
On Monday we spent the afternoon outside, we all played on the monkey bars and played netball on the net-
ball court.
On Tuesday we went outside again, this time we played footy on the oval and practiced our gymnastics skills
on the 5/ 6 playground.
On Wednesday the sun was shining again so we went outside. We played on the monkey bars and played basketball on
the basketball court.
On Thursday we met Jess the new Extend leader. We all took her for a tour of the school and showed her our classrooms,
playgrounds and all the cool things we can do.
On Friday we all enjoyed a game of monopoly in the morning. Some of us ran out of money.

encourage children to check the lost property if an item is

October is Nude Food Month
and Launching Place Primary School has pledged support
So for the month of October, we ask you to pack lunches into reuseable containers
with the aim of bringing no waste to school. Wrappers will be tallied each day and the
class with the lowest nudest food win a special lunch provided by Ms Messerle!
An easy and cheap Nude Food lunchbox treat is popcorn!
10 pack of ready made popcorn snacks = $2.75 $1.38 per 100g
400g pack of kernels = $1.95 $0.27 per 100g (after popping)
So get some kernels, make a big batch on Sunday afternoon, ready for the week ahead.
Not only will you be saving $$, there is far less single use, plastic waste. Win! Win!
NAPLAN
This week parents of students in Years 3 or 5, received their child’s results for the tests they
sat in May. These tests in key areas of literacy and numeracy provide parents and educa-
tors with a snapshot of how students are progressing- individually, as part of our school
community and nationally. The national standards are those that have been agreed upon by
all state and territory governments.
At LPPS we will be using the results to celebrate success, inform our planning and address
areas requiring improvement by incorporating future goals into student’s Individual Learning
Improvement Plans and across the school.
Your child’s teacher should be your first point of contact for any questions you might have about your child’s results
