Bolingbroke Academy Sixth Form Vision
Our Sixth Form combines the highest of expectations with increased
independence and responsibility for our students. Sixth Formers are leaders within
the wider Bolingbroke family. They access a rich, rewarding and personalised set of
experiences that raise aspirations and open up new opportunities.
The Sixth Form is small and based on powerful learning relationships between
students and a team of exceptionally committed teachers, willing to do whatever
it takes to achieve our mission of preparing students for success at university and
beyond. The challenging and engaging curriculum focuses on enabling subjects and
qualifications, with a tailored range of courses to choose from but with a continuing
focus on our STEM and music specialisms.
We will ensure all students realise their potential, achieving the outstanding
outcomes and acquiring the wider skills and experiences that will prepare them to
go on to prestigious universities and successful rewarding careers.

Centre where world-class research,
education and clinical practice are
brought together for the benefit of
patients. It brings together a
selection of world-renowned
hospitals and medical schools –
King’s College Hospital, Guys & St
Thomas and South London and
Maudsley Trusts and the King’s
College London Medical School.
Bolingbroke Academy opened in 2012
with the mission to be a centre for
educational excellence for its local
community, providing its diverse and truly
comprehensive pupil population with
outstanding educational experiences and
outcomes. Housed in what used to be
Bolingbroke Hospital, the academy has
always had science and health at the heart
of its curriculum and ethos. The Sixth
Form opens in September 2017, offering a

Application procedure
• Open Morning – October 14th 2017 – for internal and external applicants.
• Students complete an online application form via the academy website Sixth Form page.
This can be started now and saved and returned to before submitting.
• External applicants will need to identify a reference from their current school, normally
their form tutor or Head of Year / House.
• The deadline for the submission of applications is Monday December 4th 2017.
• Every applicant – internal and external - will have a one-to-one guidance meeting in
January and conditional offers will be made in writing.
• A series of events will take place to bring internal and external applicants together.
Tours can be arranged on request.
• In the summer term, after GCSEs finish, we will hold a Sixth Form Induction Day with
taster sessions. Students will be given Bridging Projects to complete over the summer
to bridge the gap between GCSE and A Level courses, enabling students to get off to a
flying start in September.
• In August, on GCSE results day, applicants will have an enrolment interview to confirm
admission and course choices.
