Dear Parents and Children, Here is the Home Learning for Class 3. We appreciate that family circumstances vary a great deal and that it will not be possible for all of the children to complete everything, however it is very important that your child completes the Core subject tasks (English, Maths and Science) and attempts as many of the other subjects as possible. Please make sure to check below the grid to find links to all the home learning for this week. Multiplication and division facts: your child should know which facts they need to learn and be tested on. They have a 1-minute test with all of the facts muddled up. Work on these facts every day, test on Thursday and send us the results via class email, so that we can update our records and change which tables they are learning. We will also update ttrockstars. We have included the class timetable (with the zoom times on) for this week, so that if you wish to, you can do the subjects at the same time as we do in school. Don’t forget to share your work- either on the Spring Term blog on Purple Mash or by email or by Discovery Education- by creating a Collage board and using the arrow button which gives the option of just sharing with teacher or with the class; please make sure you either send it to both of us, or send it to the teacher who teaches that subject. Thanks. We’d love to hear about what you have been up to, and we’re sure that your friends would like to see it too.

Read to an adult every day as usual. Complete reading diary.

Read to yourself every day for 20 minutes as you would in school.

Main Activity All of the multiplication and division worksheets from White Rose Hub will be emailed home and also uploaded to Discovery Education. A link has been put on the website to a PowerPoint for each year group called Flashback 4. Children should go through one page of these each day as they keep Maths skills sharp from all topics studied over the year. Video links to the daily lessons are on Discovery Education or can be found on White Rose Maths Hub Home Learning, Spring WEEK 2.

Main Activity: Join in the Zoom call on Wednesday to share home-made fossils. Research Mary Anning. Add facts to the Purple Mash blog about her; I would like to see at least two facts from each pupil, pleased, by Friday.

RE Complete the assignment on the 5 Pillars of Islam on Discovery. Music Task set on Discovery Education. Provided by Staffordshire Entrust. Live on Thursday 1.30.

You will need to mark the work with your child; in class, children are encouraged to work out where they went wrong if possible. Please email us with any particular difficulties. Additionally, you could use: BBC Home Learning Maths, Purple Mash Maths activities/ Nrich Maths activities. If your child has difficulty in understanding the work, please access work from lower year groups or practise topics covered earlier in the year (place value, addition, subtraction)
