The ASH Pre-Study Program

For whom is the ASH Pre-Study program and whydoes it exist?

The ASH Pre-Study Program is for refugees whocannot yet apply for regular studies at ASH.Language competences in German can beacquired within the two semester program andpre-internships can be carried out, that arerequired to apply for certain studies at ASH. Inaddition there is the possibilitie to enroll tocourses which then are credited in furtherstudies. With the Pre-Study Program as well asthe support in regular applications, the ASH aimsto overcome barriers and contribute actively toequality of opportunity and in education.

Structure of the ASH Pre-Study ProgramDuration: 2 Semesters (approx. 1 Year)

Program:• Language- and orientation courses(Level B2 and C1)

• Enrollment in accompanied courses• Completion of study relevant application

requirements (e.g. internship, first-aid course)

Support:• Support and assistance by mentors• Support for final application to regular studies

Why study Soziale Arbeit, Erziehung und Bildungim Kindesalter, Gesundheits- und Pflegemanage-ment or Physiotherapie/ Ergotherapie at ASHBerlin?

The need of qualified and multi-lingual person-nel in the fields of Social Work, Education,Parenting and Health in Germany risescontinuously for years now.

At the ASH, students acquire competencesthrough the respective BA-Studies in exactlythese fields of work in order to be qualified toact independently in various fields of the social-,parenting-, education-, and health sector.

According to the values of its founder, the ASHconsiders itself very engaged in the acade-misation of study programs such as SozialeArbeit, Erziehung und Bildung im Kindesalter,Gesundheits- und Pflegemanagement undPhysio-/Ergotherapie as well as professionali-zation of jobs regarding human rights, trans-national networking and the promotion ofdiversity.

Even today the ASH considers itself committedand socially tasked to support social justice andcritically reflect on developments in socialsociety, regarding emancipatory reality.

Admission in ASH Pre-Study Program

Pre-conditions for admission:• Language Level German B1 (completed)• University entrance qualification (to be handed

in until the end of pre-study program to enableapplication for regular studies)

Application procedure:• 1st to 31st of July every year

Required documents:• Letter of Motivation(German or English, max. two pages)

• Curriculum Vitae/ Résumé (German or English)• Residence Permit (Copy)• Certificate of Language Skills German B1(Copy)

• University entrance qualification (copy or noteindicating that it will be handed in until theend of the program)
