*Prayer of Confession
God of all good gifts, we have often failed to recognize the
needs of those around us, even those who are the closest to us.
We are so preoccupied with our own lives, we are unable to
recognize the pain and suffering of others. We seek the
satisfaction of a material world while pushing you aside. Forgive
us, O God. Help us to serve others with the same grace and
mercy we receive from you through your Son, Jesus Christ. We
pray that others will see him through us. Amen.
*Assurance of God’s Forgiveness
*Congregational Response Hymn # 373
Change my heart, O God. Make it ever true. Change my
heart, O God. May I be like you. You are the Potter, I am the
clay. Mold me and make me, this is what I pray. Change my
heart, O God. Make it ever true. Change my heart, O God, may
I be like you.

The Heart of Worship by Matt Redman
When the music fades, all is stripped away,
And I simply come;
Longing just to bring, something that's of worth,
That will bless Your heart.
I'll bring You more than a song,
For a song in itself is not what You have required.
You search much deeper within through the way things
appear; You're looking into my heart.
I'm coming back to the heart of worship,
And it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus.
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it,
When it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus.
King of endless worth, no one could express,
How much You deserve.
Though I'm weak and poor, all I have is Yours,
Every single breath.
© 1999 Thankyou Music

Warmest welcome to this hour of worship at Ken Mawr United Presbyterian
Church! While Jayne and I attend a wedding in Richmond, VA and while Pastor
Bob visits Europe, our own Louise Schoppe is preaching a message of God’s
passion for justice from the prophet Amos. God is still provoked to anger when
people cause others to suffer today. While our church is focused on God’s Grace,
God’s Love and God’s Word, let us also remember that God’s relationship with
us demands that we treat each other justly and with love. I sincerely hope that
all of you will worship with us again sometime soon. -Pastor Karl

“Seek the LORD
and live,
or he will sweep
through the tribes
of Joseph
like a fire;
it will devour them,
and Bethel will
have no one to
quench it.
There are those
who turn justice
into bitterness
and cast
righteousness to
the ground.”
