These chairpersons each select a voting panel of 36 (including themselves) – ensuring a balanced selection of chefs, restaurants, food/restaurant journalists and gourmets. There is no list of nominees; each member of the international voting panel votes for their own personal choice of 7 restaurants. To ensure that there are winners from many regions, judges are encouraged to vote for up to three restaurants in their own region, with the rest cast outside their home region. Nobody is allowed to vote for their own restaurant, or one which they have an economic interest in, and voters must have eaten in the restaurants they nominate within the past 18 months. The World’s 50 best Restaurant List

Ranking is organized every year by UK-based Restaurant Magazine and sponsored by Italian drinks manufacturers San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, the awards are seen as highly influential in the fine dining industry. It is the most prestigious Fine-dine Restaurant award. The results are compiled from an "independent" voting panel of 1,000 judges (international chefs, restaurateurs, gourmands & restaurant critics), which are subject to adjudication. The top restaurants are often forerunners of molecular gastronomy, and most of these serve haute cuisine.

Molecular gastronomy: The food science of physical & chemical transformation which occurred during cooking is called molecular Gastronomy.

Haute Cuisine: Haute is a French term for High cooking. It can be refer to the cuisines of high level establishment, or cuisines form luxurious restaurants.

To give the ranking a fair representation of global scene, they divide the world up into 27 geographical regions. Each region has a chairperson appointed for their knowledge of their part of the restaurant world.

Top 10 Lists for the year 2015 are mentioned below:

1) El Celler de Can Roca (Girona, Spain)This modern Spanish Restaurant is managed by Joan Roca in Girona, Spain. It was opened in 1986 by the Roca brothers- Joan, Joseph & Jordi. The head Chef Joan’s thoughtful yet original cooking, pastry chef Jordi’s imagination-defying desserts and sommelier Josep’s beautifully considered wine pairings adds up more to the restaurants among all. It has received warm critics and also holds three Michelin stars. Crucially, this is a restaurant that has never forgotten its humble roots, its sense of familial warmth, or the need to serve remarkably delicious dishes and outstanding wines. The restaurant is also awarded as The Acqua Panna Best Restaurant in Europe & The S.Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurant.

It is rated as 3 stars by the Michelin Red Guide and also holds the first position on the Italian food guide, Espresso-Ristoranti d’Italia. Despite the fact that Massimo Bottura frequently travels the globe, has built an international reputation. Criticism for the RankingThe petition claims there are "no established criteria" behind the event's rating system and says it has created a system that allows for self-promotion by chef-judges and largely ignores women.
