Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream

• Dan. 2:31-34, “there before you stood a large statue- an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance. The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay… a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them.”

Daniel’s Interpretation

• Egyptian Kingdom was omitted, as the vision started with Bablyonian or second kingdom, yet Daniel calls it the first.

• Gold head-Babylonian, Silver chest/arms-Persian, Bronze thigh/belly-Greek, Iron legs-Roman, Feet-Revised Roman, Toes-10 Kings/Antichrist. Dan. 2:41b-4, “feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly iron…divided kingdom…brittle.”

Daniel’s Dream

• Dan. 7:3-8, “Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea. The first was like a lion…a second beast, which looked like a bear…another beast, one that looked like a leopard…a fourth beast-terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left…It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.”

• Lion-Babylonian, Bear-Persian, Leopard-Greek, and Iron teethed beast-Roman.

• Revised Roman Empire not specifically referenced here, but “ten horns” represent 10 kings of the 7th Kingdom.

• Dan. 7:8 discussed a “three of the first horns were uprooted” by a “little horn” which had a “mouth that spoke boastfully”.

• Dan. 8:1-27 references a “ram” and “goat” for the Persian and Greek empires.

• Dan. 8:9-11 discusses a “horn, which started small but grew in power…It grew until it reached the host of the heavens, and it threw some of the starry host down to the earth and trampled on them. It set itself up to be as great as the Prince of the host; it took away the daily sacrifice form him , and the place of the sanctuary was brought low.”

The Prostitute

• Rev. 17:1b-2, “Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters. With her the kings of the earth committed adultery and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.”

• The “prostitute” is the “universal religious system” that is set up at the beginning of tribulation to attempt stabilization of things.

Prostitute’s Headquarters

• Rev.17:9, “The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits.”

• Rev. 17:15b, “The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages.”

• Rev. 17:18, “The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”

6th Kingdom

• The Revised Roman Empire, often referred to as the “prostitute”, which is its religious center, and is likely to be at the Vatican, where Catholic or “Universal Church” is currently located.

• The political authority will be located at Rome. Rome is called “Babylon” in 1 Peter 5:13.

• Early church used “Babylon” for “Rome”.

Fall of 6th Kingdom

• Rev. 17:16-17, The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.”

• Rev. 17:12-13, “The ten horns you saw are the ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast.”

The Beast

• Rev. 13:1, “And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like that of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion.”

• Sea-unsaved world political systems.• 7 “heads” are 7 prior kingdoms leading up

to antichrist’s reign. 10 “horns”-10 kings. • “leopard” is symbol Greek Kingdom, “bear”

for Persian, and “lion” for Roman empire.• Antichrist’s kingdom will have features of

many of the preceding kingdoms, and will be part of the divided 7th kingdom that he shares with the 10 kings.

Beast Wounded

• Rev. 13:14b, “the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.”

• Zech. 11:17, “Woe to the worthless shepherd who deserts the sheep. May the sword strike his arm and right eye. May his arm be completely shriveled and his right eye totally blinded.”

Beast Appears to Die

• Rev. 17:8, “The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life since the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come. (?3 days in Abyss-mimic Christ)

Timing of Mortal Wound

• Rev. 13:3, “One of the heads of the beast appeared to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.”

• The beast was part of the 7th kingdom that he shared with the 10 kings, but when he had the apparent resurrection from death, the power was ultimately given to him.

• Rev. 17:11, “The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.

And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language+nation”
