The Health Insurance Awards continues to be the premier event in the health & protection sector’s calendar — and the ultimate opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the past year with colleagues and friends old and new.

And in October, in spite of what feels like increasing pressures on everyone’s time across the industry, individuals and companies took a night off to do just that.

Around 900 people gathered at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane as intermediaries and providers alike took time out to reflect on what has been another busy year across the industry. Celebrity host and comedian Omid Djalili helped to hand out awards in front of a packed room which enjoyed his hugely entertaining performance.

Once again, a huge number of intermediaries voted in the Provider Awards — you can find out about the voting process on page 5 — while a record number of intermediary firms had put forward case study entries for consideration by our independent

judging panel, details of which can be found on page 37.

Competition, as ever, was fierce and winners and those shortlisted should be rightly proud of their achievements.

Thank you to those advisory firms who entered the Intermediary Awards and thank you to the judging panel for assessing the entries and selecting the winners.

THE JUDGES

Entries for the Health Insurance Intermediary Awards went through a two-stage judging process to produce the results.

Health Insurance Daily’s intermediary readers were asked to submit real life case studies outlining solutions for specific areas within the health insurance & protection market provided over the past year. Supporting

material to the case study was also considered as part of the selection process.

Entries in more than one category were encouraged and all categories were open to all independent intermediaries – except the Health Insurance Intermediary of the Year Award, the winner of which was

selected by the judging panel from all of the entries to the other categories.

Finally, the Outstanding Contribution Award was decided upon following nominations of an individual and relevant testimonials by Health Insurance readers. The Outstanding Contribution Award can be made to an

individual from an intermediary or an insurer/provider, or indeed to any individual that has made a significant contribution to the industry
