Barham Church of England Primary School Attendance The overall attendance this week (January 13th to January 17th) was 97.3%. Well done to Year 5 for 99.3% attendance! This Weeks News This week our Y6 dodgeball team played in the Canterbury tournament. For many of the children it was the first time they had represented the school in a sports competition. Mr Johnston was particularly impressed with their abil- ity to play this fast, frenetic game and their great team spirit considering they had not played as a team before. Well done to you all. Tuesday’s class assembly was organised by Year 5 on the school value of ‘endurance’. The children spoke about Shackleton, linking the theme to the Bible story of Je- sus walking on water. Our next class assembly is Owls assembly on March 10th at 2:45 pm. Dance World Cup We have very exciting news about two of our talented dancers; Tilly (Y6) and Harper (Y4) are part of a dance team that will represent England in the Dance World Cup in Rome in the summer. Also in the U13 squad of six danc- ers are two of our ex-pupils; Tilda and Jessica (both Y7). This is an amazing achievement for the Barham- based dance company. Congratulations to all our pupils for reaching such a high standard. We would like to wish the team the very best of luck for Rome. Dogs Trust Please save your old stamps for Y4 who are collecting stamps for the Dogs Trust. The school is also still recycling used batteries and pens.
