God wants to lead man, but man wants to lead himself. Therefore there is a war constantly. The man wants to go after what he sees with his eyes. That's where he's deceived. God wants to lead man, so He made Himself a little control tower in the midst of his heart, so that man would be led by the Spirit of God. Getting off on his own leading is what separated him from His fellowship. Looking what he could see with his eye... He knew he was anointed. And you know the same thing. If you have... You're Christians. And if God hadn't elected you to be a Christian, you would not be a Christian. It's God's choice, not yours. No man seeks God. No man seeks God at any time. You haven't sought God, but God has sought you. It wasn't you calling for God; it was God calling for you. Then you gave your heart to Christ and was filled with the Holy Spirit. And now you're positionally placed in the body of Christ. Now, if it made you quit your old mean habits and act like a Christian ought to, if it'll do that for you, it'll heal your body, 'cause it's a promise. Amen. There you are. Slide 13 MARK.OF.CHRIST_ LA.CA SATURDAY_ 55-0312 E-23 And you cannot believe unless God calls you first. And then it's revealed to you by the Holy Spirit in your heart saying, "Change." Then you're a new creature in Christ Jesus. Old things is passed away, and you--all things have become new. There you are, not tossed about with everything. If you're tossed from this way and that way, a Methodist one week, and a Baptist the next week, and a Presbyterian the next week, and you running from mission to mission, I got one thing to say: You're not stable yet. Up today, and gone tomorrow, backslid the next day, come back the next day and, "Oh, we're out gambling," and everything. Slide 18 Slide 19 Slide 20 Slide 21 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M E-31 The voice of God... Hearing His voice in that day was a rare thing. See, there was no open vision. And it was a rare thing, the real Voice of God. Because the people had gotten away. They had a church in that day that just didn't follow the commandments of the Lord. They had a minister by the name of Eli. And he'd got away from God by just teaching the precepts of what the people wanted to believe. He just taught the people, and he--he took his choice ones, and he had his sons to take the best of the flesh from their--the hooks out of the--the offering, and it just become a place where the offering was the main thing. We don't give Him a chance to talk back to us. That if we would pray and pray until our soul comes into the Presence of God, and then just relax and listen to His voice... Slide 25 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M There's so many voices in the world, so many things to attract our attention from God. Slide 26 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M It's got to a place until it dulls our senses, until we can't hear the Voice of God. Our senses, of where we ought to shake ourself and realize that you are men and women, and you are the creation of God, and you were put here to serve Him, but Satan's voice and false prophets... "Oh, be modern." Slide 27 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M E-39 Men that waits upon God comes into His Presence. And to come into the Presence of God is just like going out early of a morning when the dew and the honeysuckles are all sweet. When you come into the Presence of a person like that, you know they have been with God. Slide 28 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M Men and women who will hear the voice of God, God still waits to speak to every individual that'll open their ears to hear God's voice. Slide 29 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M Pastor, don't you never get too busy but what you can stay in the Presence and listen for His voice. God always keeps His Word. And no matter how bad the times may be, how much your church may teach against it, Jesus Christ is still willing to speak that still small voice to anybody that'll listen for Him. He's still ready to do it if we'd just quieten ourself. Slide 30 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M E-45 Now, there's a code of ethics to it. God has a new birth for you. But listen to His still small voice. Everyone of you people who profess to be Christians, get yourself quiet before Him. Don't let the washing hinder. Don't let the work hinder. Don't let nothing hinder. Don't let nobody know what you're doing. Just go before Him. Get up in the woods somewhere. Get out on the side of the road. Go into the secret closet and close the door, when the kids gets at school. Slide 31 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M There get down on your knees. You've heard all kinds of voices everywhere. But just get down and stay there until those voices are silenced and you begin to lift up. It'll change you. It'll make you different like it did this little Samuel. It'll do something to you if you'll just do it. Now, it'll make you what you should be. It'll make you the kind of Christian that you ought to be. Slide 32 Slide 33 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M And they heard Your voice come audible. And now this morning that same voice speaks down deep in their heart. They've raised their hands with their hands towards heaven, saying that they are wrong and they want to be right. Slide 34 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M E-53 Like Samuel did, stand still. Don't be excited. If you want something of God, ask Him, then stand still and listen to see what He's going say about it. Just open up your heart, say, "What about it, Lord Jesus?" Just stay there. If He doesn't answer the first five hours, then wait another. If He doesn't answer today then He will answer tomorrow. If He doesn't answer this week, He will answer next week. Stay there till He answers. Slide 35 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M Hear His voice speak back in your heart, and say, "Yes, I'm the Lord that healeth thee." Then it's all over; you get settled then. See? "I'm the Lord Who forgives all thy sins. Now, go and sin no more. I don't condemn you." Then you can go free. You're all right. But you want to be sure that you hear that voice speak. Moses heard it. He was a changed man. Slide 36 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M Oh, He's still the same Lord God. And you hear Him hour after hour speaking to you in your teeny little closet in your prayer room, come out before the audiences then speak visible to the people: the voice of God. It was precious in the days of Samuel. It's more precious today, for there was no open vision. Slide 37 HEAR.HIS.VOICE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 58-1005M Peter heard the voice. And it changed all of his theology. He went right straight to the Gentiles who he thought to be a bunch of illiterate offcast. But the voice of God, not his teaching, the voice of the living God changed him. But as soon as he can get his feet again, he's eyes is set on the Star yonder, and he moves on. Sure. There's many that's warring themselves, and trying to live right, and trying to press in; I don't know about that. But if they are in there, it's just as easy to live a Christian life as it is to live any life, 'cause you're in Christ, and nothing else but just so full of the Holy Spirit leads you, and guides you and directs you. They're all works and carnal. Man can't save himself no more than a leopard could lick his spots off. No, sir. He can't do it. God has to do it. As long as I believe I'm a Christian, I can do anything I want to." I always do what I want to, always. And if I want to do wrong, I know God's not in there. See? You can't get bitter and sweet water from the same fountain. That's right. You love the Lord, you'll do right. Yes, sir. Slide 45 HEAR.YE.HIM_ PARKERSBURG.WV SATURDAY_ 56-1215 If you love Him, you don't have to worry, if you love Him, just do what you want to. It'll always crying to do something for Him, crying, you love Him day and night. If something had happened, you'd happened be trapped into something, the bitter tears would run down your cheeks all night. You couldn't have no rest for the soles of your feet till you come back to the ark again. See? As long as you're a Christian... Slide 46 HEBREWS.CHAPTER.3_ JEFF.IN HEB SUNDAY_ 57-0901M 120-213 Now, Father God, receive us. We are waiting as we're listening at the Word. Longing, our hearts thirst after Thee, like the hart panteth for the water brook. Our soul thirsts after Thee, O God, longing and waiting. Waiting that hour then, when Jesus shall come. Slide 47 HEBREWS.CHAPTER.3_ JEFF.IN HEB SUNDAY_ 57-0901M Waiting to the time that we'll be summons to the sky, not to stand before the Judge in judgment; it's done past. We're dead to the things of the world and is entered into Christ, and He took our judgment. He's our Attorney now at the seat of justice, our blessed Attorney, that on our confession, He pleads our case till we know that we're unworthy. Slide 48
