Care Week 2019
We would like to thank everyone for all of their help to make this year’s Nation-al Skilled Nursing Care Week such a huge success! We couldn't have done it without you. We received so many com-pliments from residents, staff members, volunteers and family members during our special week. We would especially like to thank American Color for their generous donation of beautiful potted plants.
Please join us as we celebrate National Nursing Assistants Week, June 13-20, 2019. We would like to honor and thank all of our CNA’s for their hard work and dedication.

Resident Spotlight
Ms. Carole McKenney was born in Fauquier County and
raised in Culpeper County, Virginia. She graduated from
Culpeper County High School. During high school Carole
was a cheerleader and was made captain her senior year.
After graduation Carole attended business college and
moved to Alexandria, Virginia where she worked as an
Executive Secretary in Washington DC (Georgetown).
After retirement she moved back to Culpeper County,
Brady Station area, to be closer to family. Carole has
been a resident at Dogwood Village Health and Rehabili-
tation since March 2019. She is very social, enjoys help-
ing others, spends her leisure time outdoors, loves to read,
walk and play bingo.
June 19-22, 2019
Dogwood Village will be participating in this year’s
Orange County Fair. If you have anything you would like to
enter in the fair please see Gayle, Amy or Pokey.
The Orange County Master Garden Club
will be assisting resident with floral arranging on June 18th in the
Main Dining Room

Dogwood Village would like to recognize Fred Wease
for his contributions to the facility. Mr. Wease grew up
near Mount Vernon, Virginia. During the Great
Depression, his father moved his family to Fairfax
County. In 1943 Fred was drafted into the Army after
which he was sent to Richmond, Virginia and then to
Shelby, Mississippi as a 2nd Gunner and Ammunition
Carrier in the 69th Infantry. Fred served his country until
1945 and received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and
Prisoner of War metals for his service to his country.
Fred has two daughters and two step-daughters. He has
multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-
great grandchildren. He has been a volunteer with
Dogwood Village for over 25 years and he currently
resides in Dogwood Village Senior Living. Fred
continues to share his life stories with his friends and
neighbors and looks forward to participating in many
activities such as bingo, parties, and musical events. He
enjoys spending time with his family and staff and
keeps a very positive outlook on life.
