The University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish Hockey Program will conduct an Elite Hockey ID Camp for players of 2004, 2005 and 2006 birth years July 11-14, 2019 at the Compton Family Ice Arena on the campus of Notre Dame. Our Elite Hockey Camp is designed for high-level travel players who have the ability, desire and passion to pursue hockey to their highest level. The Elite Camp will consist of on-ice and off-ice activities designed to enhance skill development, tactical understanding/knowledge of the game, and personal growth. The Elite Camp will also provide leadership, strength and conditioning awareness, film analysis, nutrition education and recreational activities. The University of Notre Dame coaching staff including our strength and conditioning coaches, equipment manager and trainers, along with guest coaches from college, pro and junior will conduct each component of the camp. Our goal is to allow each camper to learn and grow in a positive, encouraging and energetic environment. Our entire staff will be available to teach, serve and interact with each camper. Our mission is to have each camper leave the Elite ID Camp with a positive experience having learned what is necessary for them to purse their dream of developing to their highest level as a person and player. The on-ice activities will include skating and skill development (including positional skills), offensive/defensive tactics and controlled scrimmage situations designed to teach game concepts. Off-ice activities will include strength and conditioning education and exercises, off-ice hockey skills including shooting stations, ball hockey skill circuits and games, hockey related tactical activities, leadership training, nutritional seminars and athletic recovery methods. We will have goalie specific training, both on and off the ice, for our participating goalies from a college and/or pro goaltending coach. Each camper will be provided off-ice work out shorts and a shirt, along with on-ice jersey and socks. Laundry will done daily by our equipment staff and skate sharpening will be available. Meals will include lunch and dinner on July 12 and 13 and lunch on July 14. Fluid replacement/energy bars (including fruit) will be provided after each on ice session. Pizza is served after the evening ice sessions July 11, 12 and 13. Space is limited for each birth year to ensure personal development for each camper. Look for information at und.com/sports/camp. Registration will begin early December, 2019. Please note that under NCAA rules this camp is open to all players of 2004, 2005 and 2006 birth years however it is designed for elite players of their respective birth year. Go Irish!
