The UK Parliament is made up of lots of different Parties, all with individual ideas about how the UK should be run. Our three main parties are Conservative, Liberal Democrats and Labour. The Prime Minister is an MP and head of the government. The leader of the party elected to govern the country in a general election automatically becomes Prime Minister (unless a coalition government is formed). The current Prime Minister is Gordon Brown, leader of the Labour Party.

James Gordon Brown (born 20 February 1951) is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Labour Party. Brown became Prime Minister in June 2007, after the resignation of Tony Blair and three days after becoming leader of the governing Labour Party. Immediately before this he had served as Chancellor of the Exchequer in the Labour government from 1997 to 2007 under Tony Blair.

Our home is amongst some of the most beautiful landscapes in the whole of the UK. Originally it was home to Henry IIV’s hunting sports, but now hunting is forbidden, and free wild deer are a rare and beautiful sight in our vast woodland. The rarest is the white deer, which is hardly ever spotted. There are lots of historical sights to be seen here, and arts and crafts are everywhere!
