It has been a while since I’ve shared anything with you, so on this Holy Week I offer you these few thoughts...

Resource Center: Thanks to Nancy Phillips for putting to-gether our new resource area to the left of the main door to the office. You can find resources to grow in faith, resources available in the area for counseling and other family re-sources to help your family. Check out this area!

Food Pantry: There has been a change at the food Pantry. Steely Mayes has stepped aside as our Food Pantry manager and Darla Lucas has now stepped in. This is in addition to her job as our Director of PRE in English.

Give a Little, Take a little: We have two new display shelves in the vestibule for food. One is for you to donate a little nonperishable foods to our food pantry. This shelf is on the right side of the main office door. The other new shelf is under the pastors’ pictures in the vestibule. This is stocked with free bread so you take a little home with you.

Altar Top: Our altar is now completely wrapped in wood. This beautiful oak wood altar top makes our altar fit much better in our renovated church.

New Sound System: The contract has been signed by the bishop and the new system will be installed after Easter.

This new system is designed to eliminate the delay in sound and everyone should hear clearly what is being read at the pulpit and when priests & deacons speak. Remember to continue to support the Building Fund because the funds are coming from there to cover the cost of the new system.

Catholics Returning Home: The Thursday after Easter, our Catholics Returning Home classes will begin. All the in-formation you need is in the bulletin and Trumpet. This is an excellent opportunity to invite your Catholic family mem-bers or friends this Easter who may have been away from the church for whatever reason to “return home”.

Soccer: After 5 years of Soccer at St Raphael, we are taking a break from the program. There are many reasons, too many to list here, but there are plenty of other programs around the area for our youth to get involved with. Thanks to Jonathan Ramirez for his work with this program.

PRE Registration: With this year’s classes finished, regis-tration for the 2018-2019 year will begin in April. Look for dates in the bulletin, Trumpet. As always, we are needing Catechists. If you think this is your ministry please contact Darla Lucas for the program in English and Monica Lopez for the program in Spanish.

I would like to welcome back Jeanne Marie Pichoff as our cantor at the 10:30AM Mass.

Funeral Guide: The first draft of my funeral guide for St. Raphael is now being edited. I am hoping to have this avail-able in English to everyone by the end of April. This guide is to help our families when they experience a loss in their family. I am hoping to have the Spanish version available this summer. The Wedding Guide is already up on our webpage in English and the Spanish version will be ready this spring. My final guide will be one on Baptism which will be available later this year or early in 2019. The USCCB is changing the rite slightly and I am waiting for the new rite to become available before finishing this document.

Changes: Every year at this time, I am asked if there will be changes with our priests. I know nothing at this point but as I have said in the past, the only constant is me, so stay tuned….

I will have more announcements in the coming weeks. In the meantime, may this Holy Week be a time of prayer and peace and may your Easter Season be a time of joy and signs of new life!!

MASS AND CONFESSION CANCELATIONS FOR APRIL 2018 All Saturday Confessions at 9AM are cancelled during the month of April due to our Sacra-ment Masses. Confessions at 9AM will resume on Saturday, May 5th.

All Masses & confessions are cancelled-Wed, April 4th at both St Raphael & St Joseph to give our priests a few days off after Easter

All Masses & confessions are cancelled-Tues, April 10th, Wed, April 11th, & Thurs, Apr 12th

at both St Raphael & St Joseph to allow our priest to participate in Continuing Education Classes for Priests in Little Rock.

Noon Mass on Friday, April 13th is cancelled.

Confessions at 5:00PM and Mass at 6:00PM are cancelled on Thursday, April 19th for Confirmation practice.

Women's Council Meeting Tuesday, April 10th—9am—St. Gabriel's room

Mary Lou Wender will be our Guest Speaker. Please bring snack foods for the Elmdale Elementary School children.

Special THANK YOU to the Women’s Council for the gift of the Matthew Kelly book “Perfectly Yourself” which was handed out after the Easter Masses.

Children's Liturgy will be returning to the 10:30am Mass

for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade. Just before the Liturgy of the Word begins in Mass, the children are invited to go

with the weekly leaders to the room across from the confessional in the back of church. During this special time, the volunteer teachers lead the children through

prayers, songs and the Sunday readings. The children will return to their parents just before the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Volunteers are needed to teach the lessons each week, as well as to assist with the supervision of the children.
