From the Pastor
Christ humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death —
even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him
and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father
Philippians 2:811
Look at the Cross, and see Jesus dying for you. Look as Jesus takes away your sins, dies your death, and is buried in the tomb with your name on it.
… But on the third day, on Easter Sunday, God raises his Son. God raised Jesus out of death, rolled away the stone, broke the tomb, scattered the darkness, proved his love cannot die, and promises he will raise you too.
Now, in these last weeks of Lent, during this Holy Week and Easter, let your knee bend in worship, and let your tongue confess all that Jesus has done for you. – Pastor Ryan Mills+

Sugar and Spice Month
Thus the theme for Operation Christmas Child for April. Sugar and spice and everything nice. That's what little girls are made of. We are asking for donations of little dolls , Hair do dads, paper dolls, play jewelry, or anything that a little girl would like to find in her treasure box. That's what these boxes are to millions of children around the globe. The gifts these boxes hold and the gospel they spread is a bright light for the children. We at Trinity helped to brighten the lives of 8,173,749 children in 2010. Can you picture all those boxes? WOW. The donation box is in the Narthex. Thanks for your continuing support to this mission. God Bless you all Barbara Mourer
Thank You!
On Saturday, Feb 26 a dedicated group of Trinitarian's came to perform several much needed maintenance tasks at Trinity.
Replacing a faucet, installing a babychanging table, painting a bathroom, and cleaning and reorganizing the vestment storage cabinet were just a few of the many tasks which were accomplished. All of the tasks were important, even if many will be unseen.
I would like to thank Linda and Luke Thompson, Pastor Mills, Ruth Ann Setaro, Doug, Kent and Christine Golden, Beth Lubenow, Si Young Yu, Walter Boyle, Heidi Edgerton, Pat Sundermann, Jamie Holowaty, and Gail Pederstuen. My apologies if I overlooked anyone.
And for anyone who is disappointed that they missed out we will be having another fixit day sometime later this year. Thank you, Fred Sundermann Chair Property Committee

TABLE
Talk
May: Time to Celebrate May is a month that brings us joy and renewal. We celebrate the events and the warmer weather with parties and fun while the natural world around us once again bursts into bloom. The LCW/AG is setting aside Sunday, May 22, (122pm) as a day for Trinity members to get to know each other a little better, to celebrate individual achievements and who we are as a Church. We are planning a light lunch and bright entertainment in the form of a Day of Talents.
First, we are asking people who like to perform to delight us with their abilities in creative presentations. Feel free to encourage friends/family to work with you or design a solo… “routine”; “number”; “skit”; or an “act” to share with the rest of us. Let it reflect a part of you that we all know or surprise us with a hidden talent.
Secondly, if your talents do not include being ‘on stage’ there will also be a Talent Display area. We would like to showcase a variety of items that our members enjoy creating from artwork to toy making to poetry and everything in between. In this way we will have an opportunity to get to know a little more about the artisans with whom we worship on Sunday mornings.
So, put on your thinking caps and let us know how you would like to share a part of yourself with all of us. You can call me at 2039340831 or talk with Karen Chaffin or me at Church on Sunday mornings; or speak to a member of LCW/AG; or call the office during the week and let Pat know you are interested in being part of this special day.
We also encourage you to invite extended family and friends to enjoy our presentations on the Day of Talents. Although there will be no ‘ticket price’ reservations will be required for space and food considerations. (Of course, generous donations to our freewill offering are always very much appreciated and profits will benefit Operation Christmas Child.)
Let us praise God with our hands, feet, bodies, voices and all the talents He has given us. Let us admire each other’s talents and celebrate with each other as a truly unique body of believers in our loving triune God. He has put us here, together, for His own purpose. Let us give Him thanks and share with joy our variety since only together are we Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Agape Church Anniversary
With the blessing of our gracious God, Agape Church will celebrate our 9 year anniversary in April. For 9 years Agape has been serving the homeless with the compassion of Pastors Pawluk and Mills and the generosity of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Agape Church experienced transformation to a new phase in last two years. We have been blessed with many worship leaders and counselors from various parts of Yale University: divinity school, graduates, OMSC and more organizations. Agape Church is serving people on the streets, but also incubating the future and faith of young leaders.
On the coldest morning in January, under several feet of snow, the day when the mayor ordered to the shelters to stay open for homeless people, 14 young men and women volunteers participated in the Sunday morning service to heal the suffering. No one said anything, or why they came by foot, bicycle or car, but I could see that these young angels couldn’t sleep while thinking about the poor men and women freezing out on the street. These young Christians sow seeds for their life at teens and twenties and I believe they will be the foundation of tomorrow in America.
Agape Church could be invisible or could be in vain since there are many evil forces and dangerous logical reasons to discourage helping the homeless when no one can fully solve these injustices and failures. It entails making trouble, looks unorganized, and leaves behind a mess. Anyone can criticize, or can choose to support.
We have been doing this for 9 years because of our desire to help address social injustice, structural unbalance, personal failures, etc. Most Christians want to be servants of God, to be instruments of God and to be used to bring the Kingdom. There is a need to connect these desires to real activities for a broken society. Agape is hosting very small portion of a much bigger ministry, but attracts all different kinds of organizations and individuals to help ending homelessness. Unfortunately we didn’t make many people into their own apartments last year, but once anyone gets the apartment, we can get all appliances, furniture, etc. in a week with a few phone calls.
Some real examples of fruit can be seen in one Yale senior student’s confession that he became to Christian after serving at Agape Church, in the times that Tina and Juliet sang at local churches for fundraising, and in services at the Green during the summer time.
Hopefully we will have very successful years to come, as we did last year, with the help of God.
Regards, Siyoung Yu

PERSONAL CARE KITS
When natural disaster strikes or political conflict flares, families often have little chance to gather their belongings before fleeing the danger. They arrive in a refugee camp or other place of safety scared, vulnerable and dirty from the travel. The simple items included in a Personal Care Kit allow them to wash away the dirt and sweat, with the fresh scent of soap and the softness of a towel as reminders of someone’s care and concern for them in their plight.
To create these Personal Care Kits we will be collecting…
• Bathsize towels (approximately 52" X 27"), dark color recommended • Bathsize soap bars (4 to 5 oz.) any brand, in original wrapping • Adultsize toothbrush in its original packaging • Comb • Metal nailclipper
These items can be given by:
• Kids during the Children’s Sermon throughout Lent • In a Basket in the Vestibule • Put in an Easter Basket to bring to church on Easter Sunday!
