THE VISIONAt the 149th Annual Grand Communication of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of

Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina and Jurisdiction Inc., the following recommendation

was made and approved by the membership:

” Lease and develop 101 E. Main Street The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of

North Carolina of Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina and Jurisdiction Inc. takes

the income/proceeds and becomes a major stakeholder and philanthropic/social entity in the

state of North Carolina via an Assisted Living Home, Multi Sports Complex and Credit Union,

respectively.”

A committee of five works on this project. As of today, the committee works on the concept which

transforms the current two-story structure into a nine-story structure. There will be one story for

retail, two stories for parking, three stories for conference and meeting rooms and three stories

for lodging. The blue-prints have been designed and analysis and research are underway

concerning the identification of potential investors.

As the committee proceeds, meetings are being coordinated with respective potential long-term

investors and/or tenants. The goal is to establish long-term contracts which ensure residual

income for the MPHGLNC.

Assisted Living Home

The Assisted Living Home Project requires the purchase of land. There is 42.2 acres of land

for sale in the city of Oxford, NC. We are analyzing and researching methods of procuring

this land for this phase of our vision. The asking price for this land is $1,055,500.00. The

seller of the land is Central Children’s Home of North Carolina, Inc.

The initial concept is to use the income gained from leasing 101 E. Main Street to purchase

this land however, we are analyzing other options/venues of purchasing this property.

Multi-Sports ComplexThis phase of the vision envisions building a multi-sports complex in the city of Oxford, NC on

the campus of Central Children’s Home. The intent of this venture is to establish a venue that

not only supports the Children’s Home and the City of Oxford, but the revenue of this facility

could serve as the financial source for an endowment fund for Central Children’s Home of

North Carolina, Inc.

A multi-sports facility has the potential of supporting athletic events, forums and teams for the

states of Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and Maryland at a minimum.

MWPHGLNC Credit UnionPhase four of the vision is the establishment of a credit union. The first step of this phase is

the establishment of the Board of Directors. As of 01 March 2020, the Board of Directors has

been identified. The Board of Directors consists of:

MWPHGLNC 2020 LODGE ELECTIONS

The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons at the 149th

Annual Grand Communication approved to change its fiscal year to a calendar year. This

decision affects two areas, annual elections and annual reports.

Constituent lodges of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted

Masons of North Carolina and Jurisdiction, Inc. shall conduct elections as normal in 2020;

elections will be conducted in the month of May and

officers installed in the month of June.

Officers elected in May 2020 will serve until December 2021; eighteen (18) months.

This is a one-time occurrence to help transition to the calendar fiscal year.

The following diagram identifies the credentials for Worshipful Masters, Senior Wardens

and Junior Wardens. There WILL NOT be any credential forms to be signed and sealed by

the lodge’s secretary. The lodge will receive three credential certificates for the three

principal officers when the annual report is received. The Worshipful Master, Senior

Warden and Junior Warden shall present their certificates at the Annual Grand

Communication to vote at the session. There WILL NOT be any credential forms for Past

Masters to be signed by the lodge’s secretary. The Past Master’s dues card is his

credentials.

MWPHGLNC 2020 ANNUAL LODGE REPORTS


Annual Grand Communication approved to changed its fiscal year to a calendar year. This

decision affects two areas, annual elections and annual reports.

Constituent lodges of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted

Masons of North Carolina and Jurisdiction, Inc. shall complete and submit annual reports

as usual in 2020;

In accordance with Article VIII, Section 1 (p. 40, NC Code) The secretary of every

constituted lodge under this jurisdictuion shall make annul returns as of June 30 to

the Grand Lodge on or before the 31st day of July of each and every year…….

Dues cards shall be issued based upon the annual reports.

The annual taxes to be turned in with the annual reports shall be the same. There WILL

NOT be an increase in the annual taxes! WE WILL NOT CHARGE 1 ½ YEARS TAXES!!!

At the Special Grand Communication in January 2019, we voted to allocate 40% of the

Raffle proceeds for operations. When we get a higher percentage of our lodges to support

the raffle, we increase our cash flow and income. Last year 40% equaled $31,600, this

year, 40% equaled $28,120.00

At the 2020 Regional Meetings we will discuss the suspense dates for the 2021 Annual

Reports and at the 150th Annual Grand Communication we will vote on the approval of

those dates.

Additionally, we shall review our reports and explore the feasibility of establishing the

potential of submitting annual reports and their respective taxes electronically.

Annual Grand Communication approved to changed its fiscal year to a calendar year. This

being our decision, our dues card will change. The following examples are the dues cards

for the MWPHGLNC beginning the 2020-2021 Masonic Year.

As you see, there are three types of dues cards; Actual Past Masters, Honorary Past

Masters and Membership dues cards. The Actual Past Master dues card is the Past

Masters credentials for voting at the Annual Grand Communication. The initial dues card is

valid from July 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021. The dues card indicates and symbolizes the

brother is financial with the Grand Lodge. The goal is to get to the following card:

MWPHGLNC AND GRAND CHAPTER JOINT SESSIONSBeginning in 2021, the Grand Lodge and Grand Chapter will conduct joint sessions. This

initiative saves the membership in the areas of finances and time. The 150th Annual

Grand Communication is the MWPHGLNCs last contracted year with the Hilton North

Raleigh Hills.

There are several questions reference moving the Grand Communications to the month

of December. The history of the MWPHGLNC reveals our Grand Communication used to

be in the month of December. We are currently, three months to the right of the start of

the start of the Masonic fiscal year. If we do not move the Grand Communication, we are

three months to the left of the start of the Masonic fiscal year.

We need to consider the following when considering moving the Grand Communications

to December:

1. The following Grand Lodges meet in December: MA, MD, SC, DC

2. The following dues are due in December: Capitular, Cryptic, Chivalric, Scottish Rite,

Shrine

3. Christmas is in December; CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!!
