Going On’s Around St. Andrew’s Music Director: Fr. Jeff, Keith Hahn, Nancy Pogue, Jennifer Davidson, and Betsi Brockmeier continue to meet and work towards the selection of our new Director of Music. The position opening was posted to several sites, in-cluding Facebook, the church's web-page, Episcopal News Service, the American Association of Choral Directors jobs page, and many more. The closing date for applications was Friday, May 25, 2018, at which time eight candi-dates from across the country had submitted their resumes and completed questions from the search committee. The committee decided on five candidates to phone interview which took place the week of June 4th. The top two or three candidates will be brought in for face to face interviews with the committee, as well as rehearse a piece of music with the adult and children’s choir in the later half of June. Please keep the committee members and ap-plicants in your prayers as we continue the selection process. Membership Development Commission: The Membership Development Commission is working to establish a Greeter ministry at St. Andrews. This group of volunteers will assist in welcoming first time visitors and new-comers into the church. If you feel you have the gifts for this important ministry and would like to volunteer, please contact Jodi Heekin. There is a brief training session required. Please contact Sandy Hoover for questions about the on-line sign up. The commission has also implemented a new Sunday evening service called “Church on the Lawn”. This is an informal service of prayers, readings and music. The ser-vices are held in the valley on the North Lawn of the Church each Sunday evening in June at 7:00 p.m. We are excited that Katie Collier Pielage, her husband Steve, and his friend Rob will be sharing their musical talents with us. Designed as a community event, we encourage our members to invite neighbors and friends. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, kick off your shoes, and get comfort-able. Children and pets are welcome. The service will last about 30 to 45 minutes. Bottled ice water will be pro-vided. A snack to share afterwards is optional. Live Streaming Sunday Services: If you miss a Sunday morning service, or are out of town, you can now watch our Sunday Liturgy Online through our parish website “www.standrewsfortthomas.org”. Just click on the “Live Stream button on the right hand tool bar of the page, and then pick which broadcast you want to watch. With this new technology we can live stream Sunday Services, baptisms, weddings and other special events. Buildings & Grounds: After the introductory session with Officer Jansen from the Covington Police Department to begin a review and assessment of building security approaches, the Vestry is scheduling an audit of security measures and options, including cameras and access. The parking lot committee continues to review and con-sider all options regarding the parking lot project. The process has stalled with the City as we try to work out how we can protect ourselves from liability that the City may impose for our purported use of the “paper alley.”

ALL AGES HANDS ON OUTREACH PROJECT

SUNDAY, JULY 22nd at 6:00 P.M. MAKING “BLESSING BAGS”

FOR HOSEA HOUSE

In the Gospel of John, Jesus tells us to love one another as he has loved us. Our Chris-tian tradition gives us models of how we can love one another. One model that Fr. Jeff taught at St. Andrew’s Club was the “Corporal Works of Mercy”. This lists vari-ous ways we can show love to each other. The first Corporal Work of Mercy is to feed the hungry. To practice this work of mercy the youngsters made “Blessing Bags” for Hosea House All ages are invited to support this St. An-drew’s Club Outreach Ministry this summer by making Blessing Bags/snack bags for the din-ner guests at Hosea House in Newport.

Our gathering will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a simple supper. We will then assemble the “Blessing Bags”. We will conclude our program with a short worship service. We hope that many of you will attend this event.
