The crew chief, two referees, one scorer and two timers are the referee team. The six provided basketballs must be between 7 and a half to 8 and a half pounds pressure. Zach LaVine is Your Champion Zach LaVine is the rookie from the Minnesota Timberwolves that averaged 7.6 points per game with a total of 366 points. Zach was only 19 and he was entering the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest 2015 in Brooklyn. His first round was spectacular. He threw the ball a little ahead of him, took the ball through his legs in mid-air, and dunked. He got 50 points for that dunk. The next dunk was also spectacular. He threw the ball a little ahead of himself, took the ball behind his back in mid-air, and dunked. He also got 50 for that. Zach’s next dunk was a grab from a teammates hand from his left, his not dominant hand. He got 45 for that one. His last dunk was another player throwing the basketball behind the backboard, on the bar that attaches the backboard to the rest of the pole. Zach dunked and got a 49, ending his whole total at 194 and a Sprite Slam Dunk Championship, being the second youngest winner of the contest (Kobe Bryant won when he was 18). Dean Smith Dies at 84

Dean Smith was a legend. Smith went to the University of Kansas and played varsity basketball, varsity baseball and freshman football. He also was a member of the Air Force ROTC Detachment. Dean Smith was at Kansas from 1949-1953. During that time, the Jayhawks won a National Title in 1952 and were Final Four Finalists in 1953. He was coached by Phog Allen, a player that was coached by the inventor of basketball, Dr. James Naismith. Right after his years playing for Kansas, he started assistant coaching for Kansas. He was there from 1953-1955. Next he went to Air Force for assistant coaching. In 1958, he moved to what would be his final team. He was first assistant at North Carolina, but then, he was the head coach at UNC. Since 1961 as head coach, he got many honors. He coached the USA 1976 Men’s basketball team, which got gold, two Division I Tournament Championships, 11 NCAA Final Four Appearances (third most out of all Division I head coaches), 13 ACC Tournament Championships and 7 ACC Regular Season Championships. He also personal awards. He got 4 National Coach of the Year awards, 9 ACC Coach of the Year awards, he was inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame, the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame and the FIBA Hall of Fame. And of course, he was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame and the Basketball Hall of Fame. He was a champion.
