Eco Cycle is the visionary solution for mass storage of bikes, originating from Japan. Space in cities is at a premium and traditional storage methods are inadequate to satisfy the growing number of cyclists who are also looking for security and to prevent theft.

Eco Cycle stores multiple bikes below or above the ground, with a retrieval time of just 13 seconds. Whether installed in public spaces or within new residential and commercial buildings it provides the ideal solution for mass storage of bikes in cities.

THE SOLUTION

ConstruCtIon & operatIonWe can provide a bespoke package to suit your requirements – a turn-key solution or the provision and installation of the system. Construction is quick and efficient, taking on average only two and a half months.

The fully automated system is simple to use and remote monitoring is available 24/7. Sensors are built in to keep users safe and out of harms way. Users access the system with an Integrated Circuit (IC) Card.

The Eco Cycle System can be sited above or below the ground, with both options providing storage for 204 bikes and having an average retrieval time of 13 seconds. Both models store bikes very efficiently, taking up much less space than alternative methods of storage. The high level of security enables cyclists to leave lights and computers attached to their bikes without concern.

Each model is made up of layers and is capable of having these layers removed or added to reduce or increase the storage capacity. The optimum capacity has been selected for the base models, as featured here.

Loading and unloading operations are simple to follow and as Eco Cycle is a fully automated system it’s also very fast and efficient. Sensors are built-in to keep users safe and out of harms way. Users access the system with an Eco Cycle Card and Eco Cycle Tag (both use Integrated Circuit technology).

Push the bike onto the gully, up to the door & pass the sensor. Push the bike forward & into the gap.

Cradle that carries the bike is simultaneously lowered and rotated to an empty rack space.

Bike is gently pushed onto the rack & when released the cradle returns to its start position.

When the front wheel has been clamped, step away from the entrance zone & then press the Start button.

Entrance door opens automatically & once the bike is taken inside the door swiftly closes.

OpERATION

CONSTRUCTIONThe Eco Cycle System has an innovative and simple design resulting in quick construction and delivery for our customers. Through entering into partnership with Apex Lifts, we are able to offer a full package of construction; installation; system management and servicing from start to finish.

Formation of the concrete & steel frame lid.

Depending on the ground conditions at the site, it is possible to use a variety of construction methods including pre-cast rings and the Silent Press-In Pile method, as shown below. This method of construction has the advantage of being quick and quiet; of higher accuracy than other methods; whilst also ensuring a lower impact on the construction site through smaller plant and the ability to pile closer to existing structures.

The construction process is illustrated below, with the entire assembly and operational testing being completed within two and a half months.
