PRAYER UPON ENTERING

Father in Heaven, I ask You to grant me a heart free of unbelief, that I may praise You in Spirit and in Truth. You are the GOD of the impossible, the GOD of the supernatural. Help me to see the things that I hope and pray for by faith. I renounce all doubt, hopelessness, and fear in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN While we might consider ourselves relatively good the fact is we are naturally opposed to God and His plan for our lives. This nature and the things we do because of this nature result in “sin. “But God loves us and has overcome sin for us. He did this by sending His Son, Jesus, to bridge the gap created by sin. Now we are no longer separated from God because Jesus has brought us back together: “God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their sins against them.” (II Corinthians 5: 19) The one who believes this is a Christian.

REGARDING HOLY COMMUNION. Members of sister Lutheran congregations are, of course, invited to join us at the Lord's Table. Others are requested to consult with the Pastor before communing with us the first time. In this way you will help us be responsible in our administration of the Sacrament – and you, in turn, will be blessed as you commune with us. NOTE: In the center of each communion tray are a few glasses with non-alcohol wine for those who are on alcohol restrictive medications or wish to abstain from alcohol for personal reasons.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study Come join our Bible Study led by Pastor Rolf.

Wednesday evening from 6:30 until

approximately 7:45. We will be studying the

will be a very interesting and enlightening

study.

Everyone is welcome! LWML Sunday

Celebrate with

Women in Mission A special worship service is

planned for Sunday, (month

date), 2015, to celebrate all

that God has done through the LWML. Authors of this service,

LWML Counselors Rev. John Heckmann and Rev. Dr. Robert

Roegner, wrote on the theme “Seek First the Kingdom of God.”

LWML wants all women to find joy in Bible study, mite giving, mission

service, and reaching the lost and hurting for Christ. Check out our

website at www.lwml.org.

LADIES: If you plan to attend the

LUMA Auxiliary hosted at Peace

on Wednesday, Sept. 16th, please let

Punky McDaniel know by Sunday the

13th. The featured speaker will be our

own Pastor Rolf talking about his days

at the seminary in St. Louis. He will tie in how the

Seminary Guild was helpful to him and his family. Let's

have a good turn out from Peace for two good reasons: to

show support for LUMA and to also show support for our

Pastor. It will be an interesting day!

Growing in Wisdom and

in Grace at GIP...

We know God is loving because not only did He create this wonderful world for us to enjoy, He created our bodies with an amazing design. This week we explored how God made people. We are learning 'all about me' recognizing how wonderfully and lovingly we were created. And though there are millions and millions of people in the world, our mighty Creator cares for and knows all about little 'me'. Bible words: "I have called you by name, you are mine." Isaiah 43:1 Activities: Visit from Zippy the Puppet (Story time) God made me (One in Christ) Shaving cream creations (Sensory) Block measurement (Math) Families, Grow in Peace is currently seeking candidates for full-time Teaching positions coming available by end of September.. FaithWalk Are you ready for an exciting weekend - one

that offers a get-away from your regular

humdrum schedule? Three days that offers

the opportunity to hear from and talk with

some exceptional artists (musicians, visual

artists, writers, etc.) about the connection

between their Christian faith and their art?

Then mark your calendar for a trip to the St. Louis Seminary

Oct. 3-5. Wouldn’t it be nice to join President and Mrs. Meyer

for a special luncheon? If you haven’t met and interacted with

this dynamic pair, you’ll be in for a treat. Watch for more

information about this new event entitled FaithWalk in the

upcoming newsletters.
