This group will give you an opportunity to talk about the changes that are happening in your life with others who have experienced a lot of the same changes. The Center Celebrates Active Aging!

September Is Senior Center Month! Our Active Aging Celebration is only one day out of a month-long celebration for Senior Center Month. The theme for this year is “Find Balance at Your Center.” Anyone who has spent any time here at the Center knows just how lively it can be! For those new to the area, the Center provides an opportunity to meet new friends. For many others it provides space and time to deepen already existing friendships. Our Center is filled with all kinds of possibilities for living your life, and living it well.

Throughout the years, the Wayne Senior Center has expanded its services. We are committed to a strong focus on personal growth and wellness, and to the creation of an atmosphere

where you can tap into your creativity, energy, and vitality. We are also committed to providing you with a more empowered vision of aging. We want you to be able to increase your access to benefits and other resources and to have the information you need to better manage your health and your finances.

A great senior center is made up of a dedicated staff and board of directors, but most especially a great senior center is a reflection of all those who come through the doors to be a part of a stimulating atmosphere. The Wayne Senior Center boasts some of the most vital, healthiest, and interesting seniors around!

This year Active Aging Week is celebrated from September 25 to October 1. The theme for the week this year is “Explore the Possibilities.” To celebrate, the Center and Radnor Township are hosting our Fifth Annual Active Aging Celebration on Sunday, September 18 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This year’s celebration will be bigger and better than ever because we have teamed up with the 24th Annual Radnor Fall Festival! The event will be held rain or shine.

Our Active Aging event highlights the importance of staying active in later life. There will be a wealth of information available to you from area organizations. There will be health care professionals from the community offering stroke assessments, balance assessments, hearing screenings, low vision screenings, a veteran’s resource table and more. We will enjoy free frozen yogurt, caricaturists, and

giveaways. You can even test your strength on our Strongman High Striker!

Just down the street at the Radnor Fall Festival, there will be local merchants and restaurants, street performances, dancers, face painting, and carnival rides. There will be fun for the whole family, so bring your children and grandchildren! Please come on over and celebrate with us. We hope to see you there! For more details, please check our website www.wayneseniorcenter.com.

THE CIRCLE OF LIFE

Our journey through life brings many changes along the way. We’re generally happy about a lot of the changes that happen to us and not so happy about others. But it seems as we grow older that more of these changes fall into the “not so happy changes” category—we lose pieces of our health, we have to leave our home of many years, we have to give up the car keys, we lose family and friends we love. The Circle of Life is a group that will meet on 6 Wednesday mornings, beginning October 5 and ending on November 9. This group will give you an opportunity to talk about the changes that are happening in your life with others who have experienced a lot of the same changes. The group will meet from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Please let Katie know if you are interested.
