Another December is upon us. Another Christmas season awaits. I'm blessed to be here to share it and celebrate with my wife and my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, my brother and many nieces and nephews. Out of seven siblings, my youngest brother and myself remain. Many of you know I lost my beloved sister, Monica, this passed Spring. This will be my first Christmas without Monica. Even as I write this, the thought still comes to me like a punch in the stomach. I am comforted by the many years of memories I have of Monica on Christmas; playing the organ at Midnight Mass and the joy she experienced sharing her faith through her love of music. It doesn't take the sting of loss away - especially at this time of year. I do take comfort in knowing Monica still plays the organ and this Christmas Eve she will share her love of music with the angels and the Almighty. I'm counting the many years of companionship, laughter and love that I was blessed to have with Monica as one of my greatest Christmas gifts this year. Along with Monica, I'm so very fortunate to have four adult children, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Seeing the wonder and excitement in my great-grandchildren's faces on Christmas Eve brings me joy that is indescribable. They too are priceless gifts that I am so blessed to have. As we prepare to celebrate the birth of a Savior in a lowly stable, born to an unwed mother, among farm animals and strangers, I'm reminded of the choice we all have this time of year. It's the same one that comes every December 25th. Will we choose to let the loving presence of a child enter into our hearts? For me the answer is yes. I believe it's why we are here on this earth; to embrace the loving presence of a lowly child born in a manger - and in turn reflect that love back into the world. I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and joyous 2020.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH
A big thank you to the community for supporting the artists and crafters at the
show on the 16th! We had a great turnout and many people were able to start their
Christmas shopping even before Black Friday! As vendors, I think we enjoyed meeting and chatting with folks more than anything else.
Spending time with good neighbors is priceless. ~Jean Andersen
