YEARBOOKS ON SALE NOW!
Sunset Elementary’s 2015_16 yearbooks are on sale now! The cost of the yearbook is $25 now through January 30, 2016 and will incrementally increase thereafter. The yearbook is a hard cover edition. Yearbooks can be ordered online at www.wcs.edu/sses/ssesparents. Click on “online payments” and scroll down to “Yearbook.” Your student id number can be found in Skyward in your student’s profile info. If you opt not to order on-line, please fill out the order form (attached) and submit it with a check payable to Sunset Elementary to your child’s homeroom teacher.

FAMILY MATH NIGHT
Mark your calendars now to be entertained at Sunset Elementary’s Annual Talent Show on Friday, February 26th at 6 p.m. Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, January 26th. TALENT SHOW
We are looking forward to a fun, family math night on Thursday, January 21st from 5:30 – 7 p.m. The evening will include many interactive games to get students excited about math! We hope you can join us!
Calling all parents of students attending Sunset Middle School next year!
Please plan to attend a parent meeting on Thursday, January 14th at 7 p.m. at SMS. This will be a great opportunity to hear
from Doc Brown about what to expect at SMS next year in light of the opening of the new schools. In addition, this will be a great event to learn about parent involvement through the SMS PTO and indicate any interest in volunteering. If you have any questions about the SMS PTO prior to the meeting, please email [email protected].

World Language Program – Spring Registration Extended till 1/13
WCS is proud to offer K-5 Spanish or Chinese classes at several schools including Sunset Elementary. Spring Registration is open NOW thru January 13th! Cost is $100 per student (discount for free/reduced lunch) for 12 weekly classes for one hour before or after school. ALL PRO DADS SUCCESSORY NOMINATIONS
Dads and kids, come join us on Friday, January 15th from 7:15 – 8:15 a.m. in the cafeteria. “Be Nice!” and say “Thank You!” to someone who has helped you on your way to Success! WCS’ Successory Program gives students the opportunity to say “thank you” to WCS employees who are helping them become a success! The next special week with a drawing for a prize is January 11-15. To nominate someone, just complete a Successory form (attached to the newsletter) and fill it out with the name of the school employee (teacher, bus driver, cafeteria worker, etc.) who is making a difference in your life and turn it in to the nomination box in front office at school. Sunset Elementary’s Spring Book Fair is coming soon (February 2nd – 10th). Students will have an opportunity to preview books with their classes February 2nd – 4th, and book sales will run February 5th – 10th. We will need volunteers to help make our book fair a success! Moms and their SSES children are invited to our annual Muffins for Moms on Wednesday, February 10th.
