Rotary Month: May:- Youth Services
Next Club meeting: 15 MAY:- Franz Huber. “Imagine there is no electricity. The consequences of an electromagnetic pulse.” Ferry Rd Tavern
May is Rotary’s youth month And we got right into the spirit of this month last night when we welcomed Mohamed, Kate and Cody to our meeting. Mohamed has a visual disability and our Club’s carousel disbursement will contribute towards his school expenses this year. And amid a whirlwind of red, we welcomed Kate and Cody who told us about the revamped PR image for both RYLA and RYTS.
A reminder that applications are now being sought for young people about to enter year 12 to attend the National Youth and Science Forum (NYSF) in Canberra. If you know of a young person who may be interested, please contact Andrew Middleton for more info. Carousel The Carousel is back with a bang with record numbers over Easter, the Commonwealth Games and the SuperNova last weekend. A huge thanks to all our volunteers for the hard work you do. If you aren’t doing Carousel shifts, please consider this as the proceeds from your shift enables us to help others in our community who need support. Ciao Italia We have our Italian social night at the Stenton’s coming up on 17 May and we need to know NOW if you want to attend so catering can be organised. There is a limit of 40 guests so please let Michael Irving know NOW: mailto:[email protected] RAWCS needs help The RAWCS depot in Durack must vacate their premises by the end of June. They may need temporary storage for their considerable stock, containers and materials. More importantly, they need a new site in the Brisbane area for their operations. RAWCS does incredible work sending containers to those in need in developing counties. If you can assist, please contact [email protected]. You can lobby your local MP to urge them to assist in finding suitable premises. RHONDA
