The Roman Domus
As advised Mitchelton Rotary will be holding the “Umoja” Dinner/Silent
Auction Fundraising event on Saturday 23rd February at the Arana
Leagues Club.
The 23rd February is a significant date in the Rotary Calendar as it was
on that day in 1905 that Paul Harris held the first Rotary meeting leading
the way for one of our most important Rotary values, "Service Above
Self".
This value is shared by the founder of the Kenya Orphanage, Cathy
Booth, who is a Rotarian from the Bundaberg Club.
We are asking all Clubs to support this event in honour of passed
Mitchelton Rotarian, John Sinnamon, who was an Ambassador of Cathy's
vision along with his wife Karen.
All funds from this event will go to the 2nd Children's Home which will
be named "Sinnamon House" in honour of John.
Contact Sandy Maguire for bookings. Bookings will open at 9am on
Monday 21st January 2019.
We hope to see as many of you as possible at the Function to share both
the birthday of Rotary and support Cathy's long-term vision for Umoja.
Many thanks
Sandy Maguire
