-Dark gradient lighting effect is used to create a grim atmosphere - this links with the theme of horror

-Smoky effect used to create a “ghostly” appearance

-Dark clothing is worn by the character which gives this scene a grim and dark vibe

-Mirror is associated with bad luck and as inauspicious therefore the use of mirror in this scene suggests that something bad is likely to occur in the future, which keeps the audience feeling anticipated

-Black and white pixilated screen makes it unclear as to what to expect next therefore makes the audience anticipated

-The sound of pixilated tv screen contrasts with the soft, mellow and haunting instrumental music that was playing in the background which gives a chilling vibe

Dark lighting used on the character’s face and on the set itself to give a dark and negative feeling which adds further fear into the audience
