Mother’s Day Spring Concert Sunday, May 12, 3-4pm The Hedgehogs are an acoustic combo, playing songs of the British Invasion. These are the songs we've loved since we were kids—Beatles, Kinks, Honeycombs—with all of the honeyed harmonies, clever lyrics, unbeatable backbeat, and electric energy of early rock, and none of the headaches. All five hedgehogs roll out from their Boston-area burrows to play farmers markets, porch-fests, libraries and other friendly gatherings. Please join us!! Sign up at concierge. The Outer Cape Chorale and Chamber Singers present Opera Meets Broadway! Friday May 17 th , 6pm Lobby, 7pm Show Provincetown Town Hall (Complimentary transportation provided by SSP, RSVP at Concierge by May 10, front row VIP seating for first 12 who sign up!) From the OCC Website: “Opera is an art form that either people seem to love or really dislike. What is interesting is that when asked why someone does not care for opera, the typical response is that they do not know why! When pressed further, many admit they have never personally been to an opera! What a shame! If you fall into this category, here is your chance to experience 4 familiar opera choruses firsthand. We know that you will recognize these pieces and hopefully come to love them as well! The joy of experiencing these pieces live with over 100 voices and full chamber orchestra promises to be exciting! Broadway happens to be what some people would consider a more accessible form of music- within-a-play. Perhaps that is how you feel – regardless, come and enjoy! Sing along! And if you’ve not seen these Broadway shows live, you will be able to experience the Broadway sound up close and personal. Repertoire selections include oldies and goodies as well as some newer shows. What a treat! A taste of familiar opera pieces and some rousing Broadway choruses to boot – passion and fun abound! The Outer Cape Chorale – on stage!”

History of Landscape Painting in Provincetown – Part 2John Peters-CampbellTuesday, May 28, 4pmHatches Harbor Room

In the middle of the nineteenth century, landscape painting became the dominant genre in the US. But painters didn't come to Provincetown until almost fifty years later, even when there was a thriving tradition of seascapes in other parts of Massachusetts. Peters-Campbell, an art historian and former university professor specializing in nineteenth century painting and photography, returns again for the second part of this presentation which will focus mainly on late nineteenth and twentieth century landscape paintings from Provincetown.
