the public zine library photo edition
DESCRIPTION
The Public Zine Library had a set of 4 disposable cameras to capture the Biennale! This is a special Public Zine Library Photo edition consisting of the photos that visitors took as they experienced the Biennale and the town. Similar in ethos to our main zine, visitors to the headquarters were invited to ‘zine’ with us! We asked visitors of all ages to use these cameras to document the Biennale and the life in Whitstable. This issue consists of all the photographs taken by visitors as well as when CRG were helping to build the headquarters with Kieren Reed.TRANSCRIPT

The Public Zine Library Photo Edition! For Whitstable Biennale 2014, Collaborative Research Group (CRG) created a social space within Kieren Reed’s ‘From the Ground up, (A) Social Building’, which also doubled as the Biennale’s HQ. CRG provided a context for interpreting the Biennale through participatory activity, talks, tours and other events. One of the ongoing projects in this space was The Public Zine Library. This library of over 170 donated zines, artist books and comics continues to grow and shall be open to public at CRG events as well as visiting fellow zine libraries around the UK and further!
