Spirit The Presbyterian LOVING GOD AND NEIGHBOR OCTOBER 2016 Come and See What’s New! Dear Friends, Fall is finally here! I love this time of year, for the change in season, and the new things happening at church! I hope you’ll join us for two really important events –our BBQ for Missions at the Café this Sunday, October 2 nd 11:30- 1:30pm, and our annual Fall Festival, Sunday, October 30 th 4-6pm. Our sermon series continues through October 16 th on Half-Truths: Things the Bible Doesn’t Say, based on the book by Adam Hamilton. Ever thought any of these five statements was straight from the Bible? Everything happens for a reason….God helps those who help themselves….God won’t give you more than you can handle….God said it, I believe it, that settles it…Love the sinner, hate the sin. We’ll explore how these are ‘half-truths’, and look at what the Bible really says, and how we can faithfully get beyond half-truths. You can join our Sunday morning class at 9:30am, worship at 10:30am, and get a book in the foyer for $14, or on Amazon. Our worship services have been enhanced over the past several weeks, and here are some of the neat comments: The light of Christ coming in brings tears to my eyes…I love to see the kids as acolytes and doing special things in wor- ship….communion makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck….the mu- sic at the beginning makes me feel alive….the whole change makes us more focused on worship…I can feel the Holy Spirit in our worship…. How has God been speaking to you in our worship services? I pray God’s blessing upon you this month, and this fall. LOVING GOD AND NEIGHBOR OCTOBER 2016

Come and See What’s New! Dear Friends,

Fall is finally here! I love this time of year, for the change in season, and the new things happening at church! I hope you’ll join us for two really important events –our BBQ for Missions at the Café this Sunday, October 2nd 11:30-

1:30pm, and our annual Fall Festival, Sunday, October 30th 4-6pm.

Our sermon series continues through October 16th on Half-Truths: Things the Bible Doesn’t Say, based on the book by Adam Hamilton. You can join our Sunday morning class at 9:30am, worship at 10:30am, and get a book

in the foyer for $14, or on Amazon.

Our worship services have been enhanced over the past several weeks, and here are some of the neat comments: The light of Christ coming in brings tears to my eyes…I love to see the kids as acolytes and doing special things in wor-ship….communion makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck….the mu-sic at the beginning makes me feel alive….the whole change makes us more focused on worship…I can feel the Holy Spirit in our worship….How has God

been speaking to you in our worship services?

I pray God’s blessing upon you this month, and this fall. May the Lord lead you to a deeper relationship with our Savior Jesus, and fill your heart and life with

the joy and peace that only He can bring!
