*All who are able please stand.

Text printed in Bold Italics to be read in unison by the people

GATHERING AROUND GOD’S WORD

Introit Behold the Lamb of God, behold the Lamb of God. He takes away the sin, the sin of the world.

*Call to Worship God is gracious and righteous, our protector and savior. God has dealt bountifully with us, and our souls can return to rest. God has delivered our souls from death, our eyes from tears, and our feet from stumbling. We walk before God in the land of the living. In gratitude and with joy, let us worship God.

*Hymn (See Insert) At the Font We Start Our Journey *Call to Confession *Prayer of Confession Our words are full of deadly poison. We curse one another, ignoring the like-ness of God in our neighbors. We use our words to bless You, yet curse one an-other. Forgive our hidden faults and cleanse us of our public sins. Let our words and our thoughts be acceptable to You, O Lord, our rock and our re-deemer. Time for silent confession. And all God's people said: Amen.

Psalm 19

3

Hal H. Hopson

Refrain The skies declare Your glory, O God, and the firmament shows forth the work of Your hand. Day by day the story is told, and night by night Your work is proclaimed. Without a word, without a sound, their voice goes out through all the earth; the sun springs from the edge of the earth, and moves across to the farthest limits. Refrain Your law, O Lord, is perfect, it renews the soul. Your decrees are sure, they delight in the heart. Your commandments are worth more than gold, more than the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, than honey fresh from the comb. Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart find favor before You, O Lord, my redeemer and rock.

We work and pray for the progress of knowledge, the promotion of justice, the reign of peace, and the realization of human unity in our time. And we look with faith for the triumph of righteousness in our community and in our world. Amen.

Your Help is Urgently Needed!

Efforts to update the Directory & Parish List have been ongoing. Now, your help to verify the information is accurate and complete is requested! After worship, please visit the Fellowship Hall to find directory pages for review – and editing! They are laid alphabetically for your convenience. Please take the time to review and edit your entry. Once you have done so, please mark through it with the yellow highlighters provided, whether you changed anything or not. This tells us you have reviewed your entry.

The “Students and Out-Of-Town Members & Friends” pages are on a separate table. If you know of any changes that need that need to be made to that list, please make the appropriate notes on those pages.

Your assistance with this task will help insure our new pastor, Rev. Sharon Youngs, has the most complete and accurate list to work with in ministering to our parish when she arrives in just a few short weeks.
