At this year’s October Harvest Conference, “Men’s Night Out” featured Bishop Sheldon McCarter of

the Greater Cleveland Avenue Christian Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with guest psalmist

Cody Holley. Bishop McCarter spoke God's word with fierceness. His message: "Things are going to get

better in the morning.”

Cody Holley stirred up the Holy Ghost fire with "Old School Gospel” and everybody was blessed. Men

who attended the first night were asked one question: "How was this Men's Night Out different than any

other?" and Minister Paul Thornton commented as follows "I've been to many Men's Night Out… but

this time the word was aimed specifically at me...so I'm just looking forward to the morning.”

The final night

of the Harvest

Conference was

just as powerful

as all of the

other nights.

Friday night was

Ladies Night and

ladies from all

over showed up

and showed out

to hear the

word and testi-

mony from Real

Talk Kim.

The congrega-

tion was sere-

naded by the

beautiful and

anointed voice

of Lena Byrd-

Miles.

Real Talk Kim

dropped many

powerful nug-

gets intended

for the congre-

gation to think

about such as: “Why are you stuck? The signs of a toxic relationship; How not to lose your identity for another person; How to trust God even when we cannot trace him and How to treat others.” However,

one of the most powerful things that she said in regards to how we treat others is, “you can’t be

anointed and messy.”

Let that sink into our spirit and pray that she returns next year to bless us yet again!

The Deacon Ministry is on the move spiritually and doing a

great work for God’s people! With the direction of Deacon

Lee Harris and Deaconess Jackie Hasley, we are provided with

the character that's clearly outlined in biblical scripture. The

Deacon Ministry’s first obligation is to serve the COPIM family

and to be available to render services to all who will embrace

them. As well as, to bring empowerment to those at the top,

bottom and side to side is the true purpose of the ministry.

One of their main goals is to “Make People a Priority!”

This unity of servant- leaders, The Deacon Ministry will be

attending some exciting events soon such as a workshop for

further training that is designed to take them to another level.

As a leader, Deacon Harris is known for saying, “Make people

a priority with respect!”

No matter what age you are, man, woman, boy, or girl the

Deacon Ministry has your best interest in mind. Deacon Harris

expressed his excitement and gratefulness to Bishop for choos-

ing him to lead this awesome ministry. The Lord is guiding his steps to walk and talk in His purpose.

Let’s celebrate Deacon Lee Harris and show the Deacon Ministry they are appreciated!

A shout out to the Super Women of COP

The Women’s Ministry closed out the year with their last

event entitled “Super Woman.” Each core team member

chose a woman of COPIM that she honored as her super

woman. These women were presented with certificates and

small tokens of appreciation while each team member

shared her story as to why this woman was honored. The

team shared testimonies and Words of Wisdom that related

to how all women should be considered super women in the

eyes of God. Topics included Super beauty, Super breathe,

Super Sight, Super speed and Super Strength. The event

ended with its signature raffle plus an added bonus of each

woman in attendance receiving a certificate for supporting the ministry.

The Women’s Ministry thanks each and every one of you who’s sup-

ported this ministry. We look forward to serving you all in 2019.

Harvest Fest-2018

What an amazing time we had at the annual Harvest Festival. It was a

fun filled event that day began during the early afternoon hours with our

volunteers preparing for a life changing event for both adults and chil-

dren.

“Trunk-A-Treat” is always a success, where there were more than 20

decorated cars with their trunks full of candy and treats lined the park-

ing lot. Those hosting the treated trunks were in costume as well. In

addition to plenty of candy being given out, everyone received a goody

bag that contained a hot dog, chips/cookies and water.

The children were so excited upon entering the church ground because

the first thing that caught their little eyes was the lighted Ferris wheel

that could be seen from the 210 freeway. In addition to the Ferris

wheel, there was Bumble Bee ride, Game Truck and 6 Carnival game

booths (with prizes). Some children received live Gold Fish as there

prize. Lastly, each family received a free photograph taken at the Photo

Booth,

This year a dunk tank was added and it turned out to be a major shock

because many were surprised to see our very own Bishop and Pastors

Hooks and Ward as the targets. Let’s just say each of them felt that

same shock once they hit the water. Definitely one for the books.

COPIM provided a fun-filled safe environment for our Del Rosa family.

It was a night to remember for all in attendance.

On Sunday, November 18th our Bishop Craig

W. Johnson, pastors and other volunteers

walked the streets of our surrounding commu-

nity to deliver bags of food to aid in thanksgiving

dinner for the families.

The donations of cash and non-perishable gro-

ceries provided canned items and boxed foods

to include vegetables, mashed potatoes, gravy,

deserts and even some Kool-Aid for quenching

their thirst.

More than 100 bags of groceries and 20 gift

cards were given to the community in assisting

on making their Thanksgiving a little brighter.

The community was surprised and very thankful.

Thank you, COPIM family! We are definitely a

church in the community for the community.

The birth of Jesus - Luke 2:8-20 8 In the same region, shepherds were staying out in the fields and keeping watch at

night over their flock. 9 Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of

the Lord stood before them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them.

“Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all

the people. 11 Today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of

David. 12 This will be the sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in cloth and

lying in a feeding trough.” 13 Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: 14 Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on

earth to people He favors! 15 When the angels had left them and returned to heaven,

the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go straight to Bethlehem and see what has

happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 They hurried off and found both

Mary and Joseph, and the baby who was lying in the feeding trough. 17 After seeing

them, they reported the message they were told about this child, 18 and all who heard

it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary was treasuring up all

these things in her heart and meditating on them. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying

God for all they had seen and heard, just as they had been told.

The Newsletter team wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
