Rum was New England’s most popular trade item and a
favorite drink choice among locals in the seventeenth and
eighteenth centuries.
Ironically, our name has nothing to do with the famous
Latin dance, “the Rumba,” but is actually a Bostonian’s classic pronunciation of
“Rum Bar” (the ‘r’ in ‘Bar’ being silent).

Sazerac Company
Sazerac Company, named after the drink, started of as the Sazerac Coffee
House located on Exchange Alley. In 1850, the owner Sewell Taylor
institutionalized the drink at his coffee house by using only
Sazerac de Forge et Fils brandy, which he imported and sold
exclusively. Today, Sazerac Company is still an independent, American
family owned company and they own many of America's most venerable
distilling companies

Hennessy
Richard Hennessy, a young Irish soldier, retired from the army and settled
in Cognac, France. There he began sending barrels of aged cognac back to
his family and friends in Ireland. The popularity of it was undeniable, and
in 1765 the House of Hennessy was established. There are six growing
areas, yet Hennessy only uses eaux-de-vie from the four top “Crus”.

distilled for a third time. International laws require anything

Bourbon is an American Whiskey, distilled and made primarily
from corn. The spirit was named after its birthplace in Bourbon
County, Kentucky. Bourbon has been produced since the eighteenth century.
Sour Mash means that a part of the distillation residues is added
to the mash again. After the mash has been prepared with fresh
spring water it is chemically neutral, which means the chemical
environment is neither acidic nor alkaline.
Rye is made from at least 51% rye. The higher percentage of corn makes bourbon sweeter and smoother. Both spirits are also aged
in new, charred, American-oak barrels.
