item or two to help make this a great event!!!
It is time for our Annual Fall Church Cleanup Day. This year’s Fall Church Cleanup Day has been scheduled for Saturday, November 4th from 8 am - 12 pm. We are in need of volunteers to help with washing windows, raking leaves, fertilizing the grass and to clean out the gutters. Arrive anytime between 8 am - 10 am; stay as long as you can. All family members are welcome! Extra rakes, lawn & leaf bags, would be appreciated. Come join us for some fall fun & fellowship as we cleanup our Church and get things ready for winter. No sign up is necessary, we just need you to come and join us. More hands will make less work for all.
Lend a Hand
Mincemeat On Thursday, October 12 Lend-a-Hand will be making its famous, delicious mincemeat. If you enjoy peeling apples, frying meat, and the great fellowship accompanying the activity, please plan to join us for the morning. The process will begin at 8:00am with the meat frying. Apple peeling will begin at 9:00am. If you have a favorite apple peeler, bring it with you. With a good crew, the Nescos should be full and the aroma of spices filling the kitchen by 10:00am. Four or five people will be needed to stay until the ‘deliciousness’ is finished cooking and safely canned for the Country Fair. Morning coffee with a snack and a light lunch will be provided. No sign up needed. Just join us for this very a-peeling time!
Please don’t forget to register all children that will be attending by Monday morning so that I can order the supplies that they will need! This will be a very fun event for youths and adults! To learn more about the stations and what kids will be making, please check the other page in the bulletin for volunteers.
Adult and Teen Volunteers are needed to manage the stations for our
“Maker Fest” on Saturday, October 28th from 10 am—12 pm.
Check the descriptions below of the different sta-tions and see where you can lend your talents. A sign up sheet will be in the Narthex. If you have any questions, please contact Tammy Green in the Church office (563-4802).
WELCOME—Here families are greeted and each child receives a Creator’s Crate—a nifty box to keep his or her goodies and projects in throughout the event and to take home. WIND & WEAVE—Kids weave a basket using a pre-cut frame and fabric, ribbon or yarn. They’ll also learn about Tinker the tiny Harvest Mouse and how God created her to weave a nest from grass. Kids will get a Tinker Buddy Tag here. SMILE & SNAP—Families have their pictures taken with a variety of fun items. TOSS & TARGET—Kids make colorful launchers, then launch pom-poms or cotton balls at fun targets. So much fun! TINKER & TRANSFORM—Small windup motors are the starting point for toys kids get to make themselves. Kids can use templates that are provided or invent their own creation. DOODLE & DESIGN—Kids invent a story in a “Make Your Own Adventure” book. They get to write the story, draw the characters, and learn more about how Jesus can be their forever friend! SING & STAGE—The Bible story of Creation happens here—along with lots of fun singing and making music. Music videos will play while kids do the motions or play along with instruments they’ve made—and your event Storyteller will engage everyone in the Bible story. BRIGHTEN & BEDAZZLE—Kids will color or glue tactile items to three giant posters. It’s one big art project that everyone contributes to—and it sure looks cool when it’s done! MAKE & MUNCH—Kids will select a few food items that can be used to create something, and when they’re done inventing they can eat their project. Yum!
Adult Christian Education Classes start at 8:45 am on Sundays, (***No class on October 1st).

JOURNEY TO GENEROSITY – SHARING THE HARVEST
Let All That You Do, Be Done With Kindness and Love 1 Cor. 16:14
God endows each of us with certain personal gifts, talents and personal possessions. “Journey to Generosity –Sharing the Harvest”, this year’s Stewardship theme. As you review the contents of your Stewardship packet, please prayerfully consider your pledge along with the sharing of your Time and Talents to help meet the needs of your Church. Every gift and pledge is grate-fully received. Please call the Church Office if you have not yet received your packet. Over the next few weeks you will be hearing some special messages from our church members. This is a good time to reflect on how you have been blessed, “Christ from Whom All Blessings Flow”. Please join us for Stewardship Sunday on October 15th at 8:00 and 10:00 A.M. as we dedicate our gifts!
Country Fair GIFT BASKET RAFFLE - will again be part of the Country Fair. Please help us to make this a success! Look for Nancy Onufer or Char Patefield in the Narthex after church today to help with ideas and suggestions. Please let them know what basket theme you would like to sponsor. You, your organization, group, or even your business can all be sponsors. We will be collecting your donations for the baskets starting the week of October 8. The final deadline will be Sunday, October 22. **This year - we are adding a Quilt Raffle too!!! More info to follow...**
For the months of September and October we will be assembling Clean Up buckets that will then be distributed by Church World Services (CWS). They are in desperate need of Clean Up buckets for not only current disaster clean up but future disasters. Following domestic and international disasters the need to distribute specific material aid is often crucial to the recovery process. UCC Disaster Ministries, UCC Conferences and congregations support these efforts by assembling various types of Church World Service Kits that are stored and can be shipped at a moment’s notice. Members can assist disaster relief efforts by assembling various kits that are warehoused by CWS, ready to be shipped at a moment's notice when the need arises. "For families that have lost everything, CWS Emergency Cleanup Buckets and other CWS Kits are more than just relief supplies, they are an expression of love and symbol of hope for the future,” said Zach Wolgemuth, UCC Disaster Ministries executive. "It's energizing to see congregations engaged in hands-on ways, reaching out to people they will likely never meet.” Copies of the items needed are available in the Narthex and on-line at www.fortfcc.org or on our facebook page. Thank you for your help! Blessings, Tammy

PEANUTS HELP NEEDED
We will be working on the peanuts needed for our Country Fair. There are many ways you can help with the Peanut Project. No previous experience is required, on-the-job training is available. You could help in the following ways: prepare the peeling tables on Sunday morn-ings, peel Peanuts on Monday mornings (we start peeling at 8:00 am and are done about 11:00 am), wash and dry Peanuts (same times as peeling), and cleaning ta-bles and washing dishes (starting about 11:00 am). If you see yourself helping in one, or more, of these ways; contact Judy Knapp (563-6150) or just come to a Peanut session.
