About the Instructors:
Greg Harlin – New York State Police (Ret)
Greg Harlin began his career with the City of Bea-con PD, NY in 1973. In 1978 Greg joined the New York state police where he served until his retirement in 2000 as a Senior Investigator. Greg’s 27 year career included duties in Juvenile Delinquency investigation and prevention, Undercover Narcotic investigations, Criminal Investigations, Criminal Investigation and Specialized training and assignment to the NYDETF as an Assistant group supervisor of the Cali Cartel enforcement group. Greg is an internationally recognized speaker and has trained numerous local, state, federal, military and inter-national law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean since 1995. He is currently the President & CEO of MURLIN CONSULTANTS, adjunct instructor for IACP, MCTFT, NCTC, ALUTIIQ International Services and is a core instructor for the New York State Police. Greg also trained the U.S. Army 1st Brigade Combat Team and the 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY. Greg was a development consultant for Rockefeller College, Albany, NY “distant learning program” in Interview & Interrogation Techniques and a consultant for the HBO Special “Ask Dr. Baden Autopsy 10 – “Lady in the Lake” series.
Tom Martin – New York State Police (Ret)
Tom Martin is a career crime scene investigator, retiring from the New York State Police after 22 years of service. As the senior investigator in charge of the forensic crime scene unit, Tom holds expertise in forensic crime scene reconstruction, latent print processing and identification, and blood stain pattern analysis. He testifies as a forensic expert regulalry in state and federal courts He has served as a consul-tant for National Institute of Justice, and is currently a member of the National Institute of Justice’s Technical Working Groups for Sensor and Surveillance and General Forensics Technology Tom is a nationally recognized speaker who has instructed at numerous law enforcement and forensic training seminars across the United States. He has lectured at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences annual conferences, The National Institute of Justice Annual Confer-ences and Technology Fairs, and the Smithsonian Institute. Tom has appeared on Court TV/TruTV as an expert guest analyst, and has appeared on several forensic related TV programs, ; Tom is the author of the Crime Scene Forensics: A Field Guide for the First Respond-er pocket guide series published by Looseleaf Law.
